Sorted.  When berthing, the bight just needs to be dropped over the dock cleat…

Once things are all under control, then the bight can be inserted through the central tunnel of the cleat and the loops put over the wings...

It is also super easy to reverse the process when leaving the dock and pull the bitter end back into the boat....

Clever boy!  And thanks for making life easier for me  😉

        👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Very nicely done there.

If IH was able to improve on 100+ year old denim/jeans tradition….I’m sure sailing paraphernalia can also get a helping hand.

        The journey is the objective.

A friend (and customer) sent me these 2 Titanium marlin spikes as a gift.  They are absolutely stunning and so brilliantly thoughtful, they will help with all sorts of ropework around and for the boat.  I'm going to splice a Dyneema lanyard onto the smaller of the two today.

          Thank you again…..

You could definitely forestall a disagreement twirling that thing on that Dyneema too.

It looks beautiful @Giles. And I bet the food is great too. It's getting cold and rainy again here in the UK, I'm very jealous of the blue skies and sunshine.

It is.  We have already talked to Sasga about mooring her here through the winter and having them haul her out and do maintenance if we need.

The single biggest issue is that now we are not part of the EU, thanks a lot fucking Brexit, we are not allowed to be in The EEC (well, actually the Schengen area to be precise) for more than 90 days out of a rolling 180 (and that is so hard to keep a track of, numerous apps have sprung up), so the boat can be here, but we may not  🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Soooooooooo, we went to the progress made on SAKURA.  It's really great to see the build process and document it, it will serve us so well in later years when we need to know where something that is hidden from view is…

                                      Engines are in:

                                      And the generator:

And lots of other techy stuff…

                                      Heating/cooling:

Deck etc, not yet joined to the hull, but in hull work is going apace:

                                      One hell of a windlass:

And, there is the deck and saloon:

The electrician is going to have a heck of a lot of joining up to do:

                                      "Mast" and radar:

Me, getting nerdy with shore power connector specs….
