I think it's used for pressing buttons instead of using your fingers. I'm not 100% certain, but I think this is similar to some of the keychains that popped up during COVID.

When I visited the Good Art Family Room recently, I got to check out an actual pair of silver and gold brass knuckles, which were based on a version from the 1920s or 1930s. So awesome to hold something so unique!
