Olive mandatory for a barber?

You know how it is when you get a wild hair up your butt about something meaninglessly specific. I assume. Maybe that’s just me.

The 816 version they did not sell, but we did the IH-720 in olive (effectively, the same pant), which they did stock.

One pair, size 40, one pair size 30 left…..

That's interesting and prompts two thoughts:

I assume that will overdye the selvedge ID? Bet that'll look cool
I assume this is not garment dying (which is interesting to think about for chinos and such)

No. We made a shit-ton of neutral coloured cotton chino fabric with polyester selvedge ID. That allows us to relatively easily release different colour iterations whilst retaining the red/white selvedge ID (because, of course, polyester does not take up the dye).
It's not, we dye the rolls of fabric

These are fantastic. Will size 34 be restocked as well? Would it be easy to add a copper snap to the other back pocket?

@vu8iNTGo due to production issues we did not stock the W34 I'm afraid. Self Edge have stocked them so you could give them a try.

Sized up one from my 555 denim size, paired here with a 6 oz loopwheel pocket tee, Alden whiskey PTBs, and a custom shirt by my wife with linen shifting fabric from Tesuti fabrics.

Nice fit, and the shirt looks great - that's not an easy sewing job.

I picked up a pair of these a couple of weeks ago. They're perfect for work, so I recklessly ordered black and olive too. My first chinos. I love being able to stand around with my hands in my pockets!

For anyone looking at these, it might be worth noting that they always look a bit shiny in photographs. IRL that slight sheen is quite subtle.

Waist looks big on these chinos. Are they larger than a 32 in their jean size?

Also, could you wear boots with the hem?

@jschmid hi… the waist is what it is. Different iterations in different materials come up in different sizes. A 555 cut in 21oz won’t have the same waist as a 555 in UHR. So go by measurements and not tagged size.

As for the boots, it will depend on the boot, shaft and size, and the hemming. I could make these work with engineers at my hem length, but it would be close.

You can do the sums to work it out.
