Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) - Sunglasses and Frames…

Agreed across the board @sabergirl
When I was scouting for some clear acetate optical frames, I was surprised to try on a pair (Morris I think) in kind of a matte clear gray acetate up front with titanium earpieces that I really liked a lot versus the chunky acetates that are so distinctive and first grabbed my attention.

New sunnies arrived today. Love ‘em. Grabbed a picture of the Dealan in argyle. I was worried about being able to pull off the look of the subtle cat eye but I think it works. I’ll get one up of the Fellini too. Not sure who made the comparison of JMM acetate frames to IH xhs denim but the analogy is spot on. Once you’re wearing ‘em it’s hard to go back to what you were before.. The craftsmanship. The quality. The fit.

(Ohhh the irony. How ridiculous of me to snap a selfie whilst driving AND have my safety belt buckled. Oh well it’s the best I could come up with. I promise no pedestrians were harmed :D)

Fantastic choice @Kirk they look great on you.
I had the same concern about Dealan’s cat eye shape. I think it looks more extreme in pictures I’d seen than they did on my face. They were in contention but there wasn’t an ideal colorway in stock and Walker won the day over Kaine in the finals.

I’ll second that Kirk Nice choice!

Thanks, all! Appreciate the feedback. Grateful for the forum and everyone who contributed to this thread, without I probably don’t discover this incredible eyewear brand.
The surplus color is growing on me. The Fellini frames and color provide a nice compliment to the Dealan’s, which help me justify owning the two pairs.
The inside of the frames are spectacular. The gold hardware looks great against the olive color and the hairline engraved wire core design is an incredible detail.

ordered those yesterday, Walker argyle. I hope they fit and look good on me …bit nervous ::)

@Kasi will you be breaking into @LewisStonehouse's home to do so?
-
Wow, those are magnificent!
What shade of green would you say that is? A hunter green, maybe?
@Paul9221 I’m not sure how to answer your question.
The color definitely changes with the lighting. Direct sunlight and the frames give off a color similar to the ihtl-1213-olv(which I don’t own) When it’s not as bright out the color is much darker. Here’s a picture of the glasses with my iht-1610-olv. And the 1213 below for comparison.

@Kirk yeah, sorry, I kinda realized that it's a tough question to answer after asking it
But look at you, you compared it to a shirt I own!
It's a beautiful color. Before I pulled the trigger on the Donovan Noir, I was hovering over Rover. It's a lovely color but I picked the black (Noir) because black goes with everything. If my wife ever gives me my credit card back, I'll see about picking up something in Rover

No worries at all. I just wouldn’t consider myself an expert on color palettes :D. I don’t think the pictures of the surplus color on the JMM website are the best indicator of the color, mainly because they’re studio shots and not taken outdoors.
Yeah, you can’t go wrong with Noir. That color was sold out in the Fellini and Dealan when I was looking. Rover is excellent too.

Eyeing (no pun intended) two sets of optical frames. still very skeptical about buying without trying on glasses..

I hear you on that one, @louisbosco. I'll admit that I bought mine without trying on and lucked out super hard with the fit, etc. You have a spot local to you?
