Holiday Traditions

Man, what a Xmas dinner. I can't help but feel bad for the ole fella. And for everyone impacted by his issues. Hell, the whole story is sad, if darkly humorous @goosehd Hopefully none of that will become tradition

We got a ski in / ski out cabin for the family as our present to all of them (each of our parents and siblings, and my sister's family) but we couldn't do it ON Xmas, so it'll be more of a post-Xmas thru NYE deal. But in addition to my daughter's (first) birthday in a week, each of my nieces and nephew have birthdays within a couple of weeks of one another. So it will be a post Xmas / birthday party for the 4 younguns extravaganza for our families. I would like for this to become a tradition–we will see!

Trees go up late in Norway. The correct first day is the 23rd (tomorrow). We got it ready this evening. The tree’s name is Gunn-Edel. Don’t ask.

My brother in law would definitely disagree! It's a great tree though and the Nephlings look like they're having fun.

On the subject of trees, my tradition has become telling myself around this sort of time that I'll put one up next year!

Here’s a Baltimore tradition I’ll miss.  In a magical place called Hampden they go batshit crazy on Xmas.  They won’t even let you live on this bock unless you promise to do extravagant Xmas decorations.  @Oaktavia do you guys go?

I've had friends who lived in Hampden…have not been there in some time. Sounds rad.

It’s legit.  There’s an amazing Belgian beer bar called Dr Kleine Duivel that is a must visit and a great pizza place called Paulie Gee’s.  Great for a holiday date night with or without kids.

Hattie made a trip around the Sun!

She and all 3 of my nieces and nephews have birthdays within two weeks of one another. So in addition to Hattie’s birthday party, we will be celebrating all of those birthdays and Christmas in Breckenridge. I hope all of these things live on as holiday traditions.
