New forum software will likely be implemented in the next 6 months or so (one or two more pressing IT things to sort out first), it will be a lot more intuitive, "current" and mobile friendly…..

Is there any way to reformat this on my end, like configuring view or something? Or is Tapatalk better?

Tapatalk can be frustrating with the worst issues being notification lags and problems with tagging.

As for the desktop version, it is old and clunky but it works. Your issue is relying on email notifications and corresponding via them. If you conduct correspondence direct from the message function it is less troublesome.

I have email notifications turned off as I find them useless and intrusive. I rely on Tapatalk notifications and refreshing the forum on permanemtly open tabs in Safari, either on my iMac or telephone.

My question is, are the more complicated UHFs softer/downier compared to the less complex patterns like buffalo check? Just an observation from the shirts in my collection.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@Anesthetist, I’m not sure pattern has anything to do with it, my 156 burgundy and my purple 130 are very soft and as you know one is a plain weave and one is an ombré. My buffalo checks are definitely the thickest and heaviest of all of them and they become rather stiff for a bit after a wash but do soften in time but never get quite as soft as some of my others.

My newest UHF the green 311 is without a doubt the softest UHF I’ve had out of the bag unworn and unwashed. I think I read that you said your 309 what crazy soft. I’m guessing something changed with the brushing. It definitely feels different than the others.

Thanks, y'all — I'm psyched to check out the new forum software when it lands.

In the meantime I'll just reframe the way I view the messages when I open them up — might take some practice to get out of my old mindset but it'll be alright 🙂

When I was first getting into Iron Heart there were some Corduroy 634s,but I had just bought some jeans, and I thought well,I’ll get them next year. But there was no next year,as they were never made again. That was when I started paying attention, an Iron Heart epiphany of sorts.

I missed out on them, too—and have since had pairs that were too small. A new release would be very welcome!

The the surprise of no one, I'll weigh in that those jeans are awesome. I feel like they were slim for 634 but personally enjoy the cut, and love love love the fabric. An olive pair could tempt me. A CPO and chore jacket out of the double weave cord would be pretty sweet.

It depends upon the weave and colours used, some dyes make the yarn stuffer than others.  The IHSH-302 and 312 were woven and brushed at a different mill than all the other UHFs.

But in general, making clothes out of natural materials is not a science.  Not all sheep, cows, horses, deer etc are the same.  Not all cotton is the same, think of it like how terroir changes the character of a wine, the same is true of cotton.

Hello guys. Its been along time since my last pear of IHs which were the 301s and for some reason I’m itching to get into a new pear. I was recently looking into the 555s super slims either in the indigo or the super slim superblack. My 301s are a size 27 so I was looking at a size 28. Only thing is that I’m not really the tallest out of the bunch and measuring my inseam at a 25.. I was wondering if anyone out there can let me know if trimming down the inseam will effect the hem length. I basically just cuffed my 301s when I wore em all the time back in the day. Thank you!

On the 555, not so much. The leg from knee to hem is much straighter than in the 301. All the taper is from thigh to knee. I’d guess about 0.2”.

Just did the math, if they get hemmed 10” to 25” inseam then I was pretty spot on. I am an English teacher though (and a bit of a twat), so do please check my work [emoji1]

I recently ordered both the 34 IH-NO-LOT and 36 IH-888S-21OD thinking one of those might be right for me. What I found is that I seem to be in between cuts of these two.

NO-LOTs were perfect on the waist but the front rise was very uncomfortable through the crotch and rear rise would slide down anytime I sat or bent over. The fit through the thighs was also a little tighter than I prefer as I keep a phone/wallet in my front pockets. Also the pocket bags seemed small?  The knee was OK but would have preferred another .5" evenly from the thigh to hem.

The 888s was much too bulky in the top block in both the front and rear giving a diaper / "poopy pants" look but at least the waist stayed put when i sat/bent over. The thighs were much too big and gave the pants a bit of a pantaloon look. Knee and hem were fine.

After heading to a local store, and trying on a dozen+ brands, styles, etc, I found that 34 ONI 902ZR's fit nearly perfect and grabbed those. Though I'd still like a pair of IH's with the 21oz fabric….it just felt so amazing.

Is there a pair for me?  I asked customer service who had been extremely helpful but they indicated they were unable to recommend / search for jeans given a list of the measurements I provided.  I attempted to look through all the jeans on the website, but wondering if I missed one the collective might recommend.  The closest I found was the 36 666 Shinyata's (link below) with a smaller waist and higher rise but was told these would likely not be restocked.

Thanks in advance for any advice or insight!

Have you looked at the 1955? It's available in 21oz indigo and overdyed indigo, but it seems like it's frequently on the verge of extinction. Hopefully they'll restock these at some point, because I'd like to pick up a pair, myself.

I personally prefer higher waisted jeans, but they're new to me and I've learned a couple of things experimenting with them. Firstly, I'm sure you've probably figured this out, but it's good to go with a smaller waist size because they're sitting so much higher. Beyond that, I tend to err on the even smaller than I'd guess side if the jeans stretch a lot (like the 21oz tends to do, for example). I've got a pair of 888 21OD and a couple pairs of Mister Freedoms that seemed really tight in the waist when I first got them, but subsequently stretched out to be very comfortable. If the waist starts out comfortable when you first try them on, you're going to get more of that sorta poopy pants look (haha I know exactly what you mean).

I hope that helps! Maybe some others will chime in…
