I really dig the extended straps. How long are they? Wait for them to curl up.
Wesco offer one and two inches, so that is probs two and then strapped tight.
That being said, I’m sure you could ask for as long as you want if you are willing to pay for it, so they could be three inches.
You're probably right. On the Standard & Strange page, they don't specify length. Just says that they're extra long, for that vintage styling.
I'm not the biggest fan of the longer strap, but I can live with it.

...unfortunately for me I wear a EE at minimum which relegates me to the 'custom' shop for all boots. Nothing off the rack.

Just got my final payment invoice. Looks like I'll be getting my boots any day now!

Question for those that have custom built Wescos: What are the advantages and disadvantages to adding a lining inside the boot?

@Alex_24 I like them for their warmth and stiffness. They remind me of IH XHS jeans. Super stiff at first (and for a long time), but once broken in are like a pair of sweatpants.
Their warmth can be a little much for the heat of summer and I will often wear unlined during the hottest days (kind of like XHS jeans).

Indeed, lined is warmer and they hold shape a bit longer.
I have both, I love the unlined because it had minimal break-in and is very comfortable and soft.
But I also love the lined shaft because it adds a bit of heft and looks/feels great.I would say the biggest difference is temperature of the boots, you can't go wrong either way.
I do believe the Johannes will always be lined because of the construction (it needs a bit of stiffer/thicker walls because of the lack of heel cup).

Thanks for the input on the topic! I’m going to stick with my original thinking: no lining. I want a boot I can wear year-round, so extra warmth is not something I need. I think the Wesco Redwood leather is thick enough (7oz. oil-tanned) to suit my purposes. Plus, I’m going for Redwood Roughout, so the smooth side will be inside the boot anyway, which should allow for a comfortable wear.

I have a lined boss boot. I liked it because it holds its shape better and just feels better overall. It was hot wearing them during the summer though.
