Here's Holly with her hooded birthday quilt coat my wife made for her! Can't believe she's 10! The coat is quite warm for a dog: it's quilted from 2 layers of a pretty hard-wearing ~4 oz cotton (hard wearing for 4 oz cotton at least haha) with a pretty standard cotton batting fabric sandwiched in between, and then it's lined inside with a woven acrylic (lol) flannel that's designed to look kind of like a Pendleton-esque fabric. The binding is also the same 4 oz cotton as the body. We couldn't stop laughing about how she looks like an astronaut.

She realllllly likes going out in the snow.
Also, I'm 2nd in line for a human quilted coat (my wife wants one for herself first haha). It's probably a year out before mine will be ready given all of her ongoing projects, but we're discussing a design that will include indigo dying some fabric ourselves (nicer than what the dog got hahaha), interfacing with wool batting, making a subtle plaid look from quilting it, and including a light blanket lining. It'll be a beast. -
Here's an ultra rare photo of me smiling. I don't feel very photogenic and my smile always feels forced. My friend is always antagonizing me to smile, so I am practicing. This is my my 12 year old cat Pickles.

Being southern, I’ve had a lifetime of everyone throwing around silly diminutives like “babe”, and “hun”, sweetie, etc. I’m used to it. Sometimes it rubs me the wrong way, and sometimes not shrug. But, I find myself doing it to others, too. So, there ya go. I guess I give as good as I get.
