IH, On The Streets / Missed Connections

Ok, for reference, I live in a tiny city on the border between Canada and the US. There are aprox 75,000 people here. I've never seen in person, another live human wearing IH anywhere I've ever been ever. Especially in this turd of a town.
This morning on my way into work, I stopped into my local coffee shop downtown, where it is very deserted that early in the a.m.
I walk in, and I see a dude in a full superblack tux. Prob 666 superblack and I think the type3 (although I didn't see the red W from where I stood)
I was so dumbfounded, slightly hungover, not quite awake yet to fully grasp what the hell was happening.
I was trying to not eyeball this fellow to hard cause that would've been weird and I couldn't bring myself to start asking this dude about his pants at that hour of the day. haha.
For the record, I was also in head to toe IH and was wearing my red/black plaid jacket that says IRON HEART across the left pocket! So not super subtle. We must've looked like we were in some sort of gang as there were 2 dudes in this tiny coffee shop with long hair and beards head to toe in IH.
I'm wondering if there was a band or something cool passing through.
It was bizarre and pretty funny.
Anyway, that's the most random thing that's happened in ages.

I just read through this whole thread. Funny stuff. I had my first sighting last weekend at Intelligentsia in Silver Lake and one of the baristas was wearing a gray and black UHF. I would have said something but he went in the back before I got to the counter. My girlfriend rolled her eyes when I said "Holy shit that guy's wearing Iron Heart!"

Last year I was just starting a large food cart project in SE Portland, Oregon. I was wearing my PIH5DCT jeans and a white carhartt pocket T. I was covered in dry mud and dust as we were in the excavation phase, leaning against the rental fence we put up around the perimeter taking a break when this guy walks up and asked if I was wearing Iron hearts. I told him I was and that they were actually for the DWC2 and we talked for a bit about denim and things. Can’t remember what he was wearing but he said he was from California and worked in a retail shop that sells high end denim etc..
About 2 weeks ago, I got a random DM on Instagram and it was that kid! He said he spotted me on his Explore section and recognized me from his trip to Portland and commented on how dirty I was. Turns out his dad already follows me on Instagram….
On a separate note, I see people in Portland daily wearing selvedge denim. However IH spottings are fairly rare.

Not necessarily on the streets, and kinda cheating because this wasn’t a random encounter and we live in the same neighborhood (but we almost never see each other so it kinda counts!).

Not surprised you two live in the same city. Based on the architecture in you photo backgrounds i have seperately thought i lived in the same city as both of you (not correct but midwest none the less). I’ll be in your city for a few hours in May. Any shops I should stop in?

@Bfd70 there’s no shops that carry IH, closest we’ve got is East + West in the central west end which carries 3Sixteen. There’s also a shop called Crimson Serpents Outpost that carries Schott leather jackets and the Red Wings Heritage line, they also make their own leather goods.
@neph93 not coincidental, he posted in the city guides thread over the weekend so I knew he was coming.

I have one from a while back.
Eating at a food hall in Golden, CO, (same one @Filthy and I went to), I'd just spilled a bunch of mustard BBQ sauce on a summer weight IH indigo flannel (from @Kirk ) that had a lot of white in it (read: would not take well to mustard stains). I was on my way to the bathroom to soak the stain. Someone stopped me and said they thought they recognized the shirt and then were sure it was what they thought it was when they saw the back of my jeans. I wish I'd stopped to chat a bit, but I was fixated on my mustard-shirt and was all "I just spilled mustard on the damn thing!"
At least I can't see even the hint of mustard on it now.
