I love the 888. A tapered 634 like the SE 633 might please those folks looking for a lower rise 888.

Fair enough.

Still think the rear rise could be reduced a smidge and it would still retain everything everyone loves about the cut.

That's essentially what Self Edge's 633 is and it definitely works better for me.

They never seem as tapered as the 888. Plus selfedge measure stupid so I am unlikely to cop.

888 is a great cut as it is. The rear rise was the one thing I would tweak.

That's essentially what Self Edge's 633 is and it definitely works better for me.

+1; 633 is my favorite IH denim cut so far.
