Repairs & Modifications

I didn't take any, but happily, Rain did-
There really wasn't much to be done; there was a hole by the right pocket, and another above the left knee, the hems were fraying a bit, and there were a couple of weak spots here and there. Naturally, she repaired more than I even realized needed it, because she's a damn master.
Damn, that was how I imagined repairs in japan to be done, instead of the Hitler beard on the knee of my loombreaker (no offence against Giles or the IH Japan crew, who shipped my LB around the globe twice for free).

I'm not sure where to post this so I'll do it here.
A few drops tea tree oil (about a 1/2 teaspoon) and about 1 oz of 91% isopropyl makes a great deodorizer on the sweatbands of hats and armpits of shirts you're trying not to wash for a long time. The tea tree oil smell dissipates after 2 to 3 days and the ripe smell is gone. The inside of my hat is back to smelling like foam rubber again, no washing required. It's cold here so I put it over the furnace register to dry it out quick.
I just rub it on with my fingers or you could get a small nail/fingertip spray bottle from a beauty supply place or some kind of cotton swab would work great as an applicator.

Just got my 888NT back from Indigo proof. She did a great job and the service was unreal. 30 dollars for the chainstitch and 2 day shipping both ways from CT to Oregon! That’s unbeatable. They sent me back a handwritten thank you not, an indigo proof sticker and a “Stranger Things” Pin. I don’t know why the pin but it was a cool touch. Thanks @Filthy 21/23oz junkie for the high recommendation.

Awesome. Rain does great work and I'm kind of bias because I think she is gorgeous too.

She like pins, so she's been sending out random ones with orders lately. Just a quirky fun thing she does. I got this one with my order

Needed to fix the crotch on my 555-01.
It was my first repair ever. I‘m pretty happy with the result. -
X post from 704 thread. Fairly light satin chopped shorts

@Max Power They look awesome…

Who do you guys recommend for a properly blended darning style crotch repair in the UK? (Or China/Hong Kong for that matter, I'm back and forth)
I've always been disappointed with previous jeans crotch repairs, and wouldn't want that with my lovely IH jeans. Cheers!

I took my 801’s to my tailor for a couple modifications. I wanted the leg opening down to 9” from 9.8 and had him take them in at the waist at least an inch. I think he did a great job because to do it properly he had to open them up at the knee to taper correctly. You can’t really tell from the pictures but I guess that’s a sign of a good job. The best part is that he left the material at the waist that he took in on the inside of the pants so they could be let out again in the future. He said he did this because “these pants will outlive me (he’s 80 years old) and you may gain some wait back when you are an old man” a true testament to the materials and workmanship. Here are a couple pictures.

Looks like a really good job @deanclean
You can‘t really tell that they did anything.
