      perfect fit, congrats!

In my opinion this cut will give its best on 14oz denim.
If I had to buy a pair of not-heavy IH, I would order a hypothetical 888s-14!

Do you think the 888 would exaggerate leg length in my case? In bodies like mine, would you recommend other less tapered cuts such as a 634?

I think personal taste is as important as considering body type. I own and wear 634, BB's and 666's with work boots and sneakers, depending on how I feel. But I know that with my relatively chunky, borderline endomorph body shape and shortish legs, a taper is good, especially with engineers.

I think if you're long legged and slim these will still work really well as the taper isn't extreme and the hem not as narrow as the 555 or 777. The wider thigh will also help offset the elongating effect. If you like the 633's then the 888's might be even better as they taper from above the knee so it's spread over a longer length. I think Alex and Sam are long legged so check out their fit pics on the site. Good luck and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

@Drbabyhorse - yep, inseam measured the IH way. Weird may be more like it than impressive but such is the body type range out there.
One of the surprises when discovering selvedge denim two years ago for me was the concept of hemming jeans! After 40 years of Levis 501 and 505, ALL of them 34" inseam, all of them 'slightly short', I was amazed at 36 and 37 inch inseams. Cheers.

          The journey is the objective.

Am liking this cut so far that am thinking of doubling up even though I also have the NT and UHR version on my mind. I sized down in these and they fit perfect after initially ordering them in my tts. Well done Giles and the Crew for this cut.
Big thanks also goes to Adam for being so professional with answering my questions and requests.

Thanks @neph93. Your comments are nudging me right into the octopus' arms! Maybe that is the reason IH chose an octopus for the 888: for people all legs and no torso.

I may wait for the 888 OD, as I don't have any like that. If that works well for me, I'll start to hope for 888's in other fabric and colors.

So what ya think about the new cut @neph93 ?

I can't wait to see more denim released for this cut. I only really waiting on one denim really, which is good…saves money ha.

I am very happy the front pockets are deeper, one huge bonus. Some of my IH are perfect, mostly the double knees. The pihan10 straight cut is pretty good, could use an extra 3/4" to be perfect for me. My 634sb are def the shortest bags I have. While the double duck and 25od seem to be spot on.

Any idea how well they are selling in Japan @Giles ? If they are selling the cut….

Uhm… I only wore them for 2-3 hours yesterday and according to the Big Neph Book of Denim Geekery, it takes at least 8 hours wear for it to constitute a wear day. So today is day one. I was just getting them ready last night when I took this photo (ohmygodsomebodyshootme) 😃
