Anyone here who also wears the 1955S? If so what are the main differences (when you wear it - I've seen the charts.)

Neph what's the significance of the date in the inside pocket? Is it to tell how old you have had the denims?

Despite being into denim for over  four years, I'm still at that geek stage where I keep track of how many days wear my jeans have. So that is the start date [emoji851]

Uhm… I only wore them for 2-3 hours yesterday and according to the Big Neph Book of Denim Geekery, it takes at least 8 hours wear for it to constitute a wear day. So today is day one. I was just getting them ready last night when I took this photo (ohmygodsomebodyshootme) 😃

I keep a record of daily jeanswear kind of like a spreadsheet. Four hours is my over/under for a days wear. Four or less counts as a half day, five or more gets credit for a whole day. How's that for geeky.

I've decided to pass on these, mainly because the thighs came in smaller than original concept. I'm still in for the 888-NT, and excited that the thighs may be larger than this run of 888S. And, I really don't need two pair of very similar heavy indigo 888's. If the the UHR is a better version of the standard 21, I'll take just that one. Also very interested in other denims in the future, particularly SB, hopefully the vintage 18oz, and hopefully a lighter version like the 14oz. I'd do back flips for something crazy like the 25oz indigo/indigo!

I agree with previous comments re: the thigh measurements - there are enough other slimmer, tapered cuts to fit those tastes. Part of the main appeal of this cut is the thighs being slightly larger than the 634.

But even saying that, the fit pics so far look GREAT on everyone, and I'm excited for the NT in October!!!! My days of really heavy lifting and massive thigh potential are behind me now (both hips replaced, left last year and right two months ago), and however the NT's turn out will work just fine for me.

I'm pretty happy that the jean turned out to be what I always thought a slim/straight fit should be. Why slim/straight always had to be low-rise with a pretty mean taper is beyond me.

I'm a touch confused by some of the discussion around thigh measurements and style. The original plan for these was based on the 634, but with a higher rise and taper. That is to say a tapered regular cut. That is what this is. It is in no way a slim cut.

The published target measurements were originally a bit bigger in the thigh, admittedly, but the end product is only marginally smaller than those and the thigh on the 888S is on a par with the thigh on the 634S. Personally I wouldn't want anything with a larger thigh than the 634 so I'm happy. If future iterations come up larger then that's ok with me too as I can definitely do a size down in these if I need to.

Either way the thigh isn't slim, but if any of you are put off by the measurements get in touch with the crew, There tends to be some variation and they might find one that works for you.
