Agreed. Some articles just end up being surreptitious advertising for well known brands but this one is worth a read.

The article would have been better if it were written 5+ years ago… even for mainstream media they are behind.

I was in Waterstones last week. There were 2 books I had not previously seen: Denim Dudes and 1 other, the name of which I forget. @swiss-jeansfreak  and @Giles were featured, but I can't remember in which book. They'll go on my Christmas list.

In todays New York Times, style section, there’s an article entitled “No Room for America Left in Those Jeans” It starts off being about the closing of the Cone Denim White Oak Plant, and it’s significance, eventually talking about Japanese denim, with Iron Heart and The Flat Head being the 2 brands mentioned, with links to both companies supplied. Speaking of links I know I should have supplied one to the article, but I’m in a hurry to go somewhere. Maybe someone else can post it.

Ultra-premium Japanese brands like Iron Heart and the Flat Head have reverse-engineered the all-American Brando-biker-rebel aesthetic to such a convincing degree that they might as well be sewn in Milwaukee, alongside the Harley-Davidson plant."

While this is meant to be a compliment, IMHO I would argue IH has not "reverse-engineered", but rather, re-invented to such a degree that it flat out blows away any fabric or construction of jeans made here in the US (with all due respect to ethically made US jeans) or pretty much anywhere.

You won’t be satisfied until you wear Iron Heart.

This quote is rich. Provenance isn't important? Dude, you pushed your entire brand on 'made in America,' but now you're getting a lot of your stuff made in Portugal and China. What a hypocrite.
