Whether they are worth repairing or not has to be your decision. If you do decide to get them done, send them to me, I know someone in Japan who may be able to help…

IH UK is offering a great customer service, opportunity to Pimp and several hemmings (the rainbow thread is my most favorite  ;)).

But I was wondering for a long time, why you guys don't offer a repair service!?

So @Giles , if you are able to provide an IHUK Repair Service on regular basis, like all the one we now outside of Europe, it is time to launch it.

Some of the machines are available right in Gos Vegas.
And I would enjoy to see some beautiful garments send back to Japan!

We have all the machines we need here, but we just don't have the time to offer repairs as a proper professional service….And, if we can't do it properly, promptly and efficiently, then all it can do, by offering a less than amazing service is hurt us....So we play, do repairs for friends and ourselves and leave it at that......

                Sad, but true...

Pity, I have a pair of overdyed 666s I've not worn in two years  because they need repaired. 1st repair was by the denim doctor, (who did what I didn't want him to do and no better than local places, would not use him again). Keeping them for when I can eventually take them to Self Edge for some darning type repairs.

                        Hi,
                        I'm after some advice…
I regularly wear through the left knee of all my jeans well before the right knee and well before anything else serious needs repairing. I usually send my jeans to the Denim Doc in Manchester (UK) who does a great job reinforcing the knee and then over-stitching. This works pretty well for most jeans, however my current jeans (Trophy 1607) are super-soft and the reinforcing material changes the way the jeans hang at the knee; it looks like I've got kneepads underneath!
I've unpicked the stitching and am thinking I might ask him to re-do the repair with a lot thinner reinforcing material. Before I do, can anyone suggest any other way to repair small holes in the knee and where could I get it done?

                        Cheers,
                        Dan

I just sent my slim cut to railcar for some tapering. should have them back in a few weeks. I already did the hot soak and they are much softer than i anticipated. they certainly are hefty. i look forward to wearing them this fall. the Connecticut summer is no place for 25oz.. at least not the way i sweat. that 10th anni pronto though…

                            Maybe so. Maybe not

Does anyone know someone(possibly in the USA) who alters vests? I would be looking to get the shoulders chopped in a little and around armpit. I have a photo to show what I mean of a random vest photo I could get. Red line would be an idea of what I want.

                              Thanks

Railcar does an excellent job. You cannot see a difference. I've used them multiple times for tapering, and for hemming.

On their webpage they don't offer hem service for anything over 21oz, but tapering page says 25oz.
My PIH5DCT were hemmed by IHUK at time of purchase.

Railcar does a great job with the tapering service. Or any service for that matter. Their darning service  is second to none. I emailed them ahead of time and asked specifically if they will Work on 25oz denim. they told me yes. one of their railroad car brand jeans that they make and sell is 23oz. Just email info@railcarfinegoods.com if you have any questions. They respond quickly.
