@Giles I remember you mentioned that IH hold the undyed fabric in stock and apply dye as needed, any chance of other colors in the future? The khaki and black are likely to be my most wear chinos. thanks
      !

Correct.  We do khaki, black and beige.  Other colours are a probability…..

They are shiny.  That's what mercerisation does.  That said, we shoot with lights or sun, so the shininess is a little exaggerated….

Thanks @Giles.  I have the 707's which I love but the shine seems to be a bit more noticeable on the black fabric compared to the khaki??  A little shine doesn't bother me but I guess the only way I'll truly find out is by picking up a pair and seeing for myself.

They aren't that shiny in person. Also, my experience with the other two colors is that the shine wears off with a few washes.

I don't think they're too shiny. Definitely not much more so than many un brushed chinos.

Thanks @DrBabyhorse.  Did you get much shrink after a soak?  How are you liking them?  I haven't heard too much feedback from anyone on these yet.

I did a cold soak and air dried them and there is no noticeable shrinkage, though I didn't measure. I really like them. The fabric feels slick and I think they will be great for informal and formal occasions.

They look great but tight in thighs, aren't they. What do you think will they stretch a bit? Thx in advance.

They definitely don't feel tight. I've been wearing them for about 6 hours so maybe they are loosening up, but I think they are about the same. It's possible my idea of "tight" is different from yours. They are pretty much the same as all my chinos. I'll let you know how they feel after a few wears.

Seriously won't fade?  As pants I'd actually wear for work, I'd be into that…

I wear 711's in size 32.  Would size 32 in these 717's be a good fit considering shrinkage?

                                        Thank you.

                                            Short answer - Correct

                                            Long answer:

"A dye, which is capable of reacting chemically with a substrate to form a covalent dye substrate linkage, is known as reactive dye.

Here the dye contains a reactive group and this reactive group makes covalent bond with the fibre polymer and act as an integral part of fibre. This covalent bond is formed between the dye molecules and the terminal –OH (hydroxyl) group of cellulosic fibres on between the dye molecules and the terminal –NH2 (amino) group of polyamide or wool fibres."
