My Dad almost died last week. This time last week I was basically saying my goodbyes.
On Friday he went into a hospice (a truly amazing place with some incredibly hard working people).
Went to see him this evening and he has made such a remarkable recovery that he is going to be going home!
Nice to see him on good form but incredibly fucking bewildering considering we were told he had days to live!

Cross post from Runners . . . .
A MASSIVE thanks to all of you for the support offered to me, Jules ( @Black Orchid ) and The Teenage Cancer Trust Charity, both financial and in spirit, for the Bath Half Marathon that we both successfully completed on Sunday 12th March 2017 . We ran the Bath half marathon to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust Charity and our totals including gift aid were; £352.50 and £308.75. Thanks to you guys we both hit our pledge targets of £300

I ran alongside Jules all the way as it was her first half marathon and she found it tough but completed it without breaking her stride. Here are a few pictures;

Well done guys. Though it doesn't look like Jules is having the best time of her life…..
You're so right Giles.. I was in pain! Then he wakes up this morning and says, " Do you fancy doing the Bristol 1/2 with me?" [emoji30]

I'm not shure where this belongs, so I put it here because I need to get it off my chest.
My father died today because of cancer. We had a very distant relationship because he had never been a part of my life. Hell, I spend more time with my kids in a year then he spend with me in 41.
Still, it makes me very sad, which is kind of strang for me.
I was told yesterday evening, that he was in hospice now and wanted to visit him there today. When I called them this morning at 9:00 to find out how he was, because I wasn't shure if I should take a break from work and visit early or drop by after work. They said he is doing fine, considering the circumstances. One hour ago I was told he died surprisingly at 10:30.
Even with all the emotional distance between us I am very sad I didn't have the cance to say farwell while he was still alive.
Damn it, I need to go for a walk to get my head free.
