One thing I've wondered about these, the doubled up fabric means the external thigh measurement will be somewhat misleading, no? The 13" on the W34 will in practice feel more like 12,7" perhaps?

I’ve had my pair of these since September I think, and worn them almost every day. I wanted to post some fades of them but they really haven’t done that much. I love these things. They can really take a beating for work, but also look great for just about everything else too.

nicely done @deanclean - the brown duck takes some time, but I find the more they touch water, the nicer their fades get. Any fit pics with the alterations you had done?  Didn't you have the seat snugged up and the leg opening tapered a bit?
