    @jay:

    What @ChuckDenim and @Peter and @Finn666 said.

    Yep@ChuckDenim:

I´m a bit disapointed by the measurements. There seems to be no major difference to a 666s post soak.
The pre production sizing table was very promising, cause I was looking forward to a real mid rise tapered jeans.
    That´s for me size 33: FR ~10,5 / BR ~14,5 / UT 12,5 / K 8,5 / LO 7,5.
I think, there are enough slim high rise jeans in the IH production line, so this was the chance to make something different.

Those would be perfect measurements for me too.And I totaly agree with everything what you said.

I'm goona guess ththe higher price has to do with a few of the design detritus like the selvedge fly and sewn in belt loops.

@Giles can correct me if I'm wrong but sewn in belt loops and selvedge fly are more or less standard on most IH gear (and I for one love that sh!t). Things are just costing (even) more to make in Japan at the mo.

For my part, I'd be all over these if I didn't already have 301S and 555-1 in the same denim. As it is they will be my next IH jean when the double indigo comes. And if an SBG version ever gets made, then come to momma….

I've just seen the pictures in the shop. Bloody excellent looking jeans. My last post x2.

I was just comparing to the IH-634S looking at the pictures they don't look like sewn in belt loops or selvedge fly and the price is $350, but the samaller production run definitely makes sense.

I understand. Almost everything has the sewn in belt loops. It's an engineering feature. The 301's and the 555's definitly have selvedge fly and they're cheaper than these. I don't know about the 634's personally.

Giles, I'm not able to see a whole lotta difference between these and the 555, fit wise and in the denim. Could you explain?

There isn't.  Just a more tapered knee to cuff.

They did not turn out exactly as planned.  So we'll get that sorted for the next run.

If that size 38 ended with a 8" hem, maybe another 1/2" more on thigh… would be perfect fit for regular guys with slightly beefier thighs 🙂

Would you mind expanding on that… what is envisioned for these and how does the first iteration differ from the vision?

I spent yesterday checking with H and Tom what we could/would do.  This is what we have agreed

Front and rear rises: 1.5 - 2cm smaller
                          Thigh increased by 1cm
                          Cuff 0.5cm smaller

Sounds like a good plan. I think a lot of people will be happy with that, especially the thigh measurements. I appreciate the transparency in the process, it's great for us to get that insight in what you guys are trying to achieve.

Those tweaks sound like what I would have in mind to make these pretty much spot on for me

I think the FR and BR are pretty good where they are now. This will always be a personal thing though. I like my FR about 11" and Rear 16-17", but that is me.

The thigh up a CM is a great idea, as well as the hem.

Most people have pretty close ankle diameter. I never got the huge differences in hem sizing sometimes.

Maybe a like 1cm smaller in hem for them 36,38 and 40 sizes 😛  I will definitely have to grab one of these in the future then….damn you Giles 😛

I received my 777's today and can't be happier with the top block and thighs. I've struggled with sz 38 555's (good leg, huge top block, too high rise for my gut) and sz 36 666's (huge legs, tiny top block, good rise). These 777's are the closest I've gotten to perfect, but I agree that the hem opening could be slightly smaller.

As a bigger guy with a short inseam (sz 36/38, 30" inseam), it's really hard to find pair of pants that fit. Most size 38 pants are made for a longer inseam, so after I hem them they end up with an absolutely enormous hem opening.

Tearing that metallic blue bag makes me so damn happy…
