Thanks for the info on these jeans.  I'm a pretty big guy too. (6'2", 205lbs).  I was a little worried that they would be too "skinny" for me, but after taking some measurements they look like they will be perfect.

@deanclean I'm 5'10" and 235 lbs and these do the trick. Actually even the IH-555s fit me okay. The 666 cut for me seemed a little too short and too slim in the thighs. The thighs were skin tight when sitting, but the waist stretched out to be 2 inches too big. I was always pulling up my pants.

The MBBs are much tighter in the waist, but roomier in the thighs. Perfect for the "huskier" guy. After 2 days wear the waist is perfect and they stay up even without a belt. These are absolutely the best fit I have ever had in a pair of jeans.

Also, @Broark if you are looking for something heavy that works in the Texas heat, the 25 oz. denim has been great all over the globe. I work in Deer Park and Houston, Texas all the time. They were even manageable in the jungle of Colombia. (I am more of the sadomasochistic variety though). 🙂

36, but that can be changed once I get a the sample pair made and do some actual shrink tests.

So glad they are the BB cut again. I liked the look of the UHR and this became a no brainier.

How well does this denim breathe? I really don't need more jeans but I'm very interested in this denim and cut, just worried it may be too much for me to deal with in Florida. For example the Self Edge x IH collab with the 20 oz left hand twill denim was too much for me, but the Samurai 19 oz denim was fine. Just curious how it compares.

These will breathe even less than the 20oz - sorry….

Right now (literally) I am wearing the 20oz left hand 633s in a 36, the waist fits perfect post soak. I only sized up due to the unsanforized aspect. Would you recommend these in 36 as well?

Possibly.  We simply do not know what the sizing will be like in any meaningfully accurate way until they get here.  Pre-ordering commits you to a purchase not to purchasing a specific size….

                        Hello,

I have tried raw BB´s in 38 and pulled them up to my belly button 😞 . They where even more tight then the 36, pre-washed, wich come out great know. Any suggestions? I tried the 666`s in 36 - much too tight in the upper leg.

The simple answer is no.  If we did, we would.

Every time we make a new cut out of a new denim we have to sample it, only then do we know with any degree of accuracy how the cut/denim will behave.

After that we have to tweak the cut to further refine it.

The added complication of course is that the humidity in the mill that makes the denim and the factory that does the sewing changes how the denim behaves.

So, once we have the jeans here, we will measure them accurately, do a shrink test on one or two sizes to determine anticipated shrinkage and publish the dats.

The further further complication is that in broad strokes, Americans get more shrinkage out of a particular denim than Europeans who in turn get more shrinkage than Japanese.

EDIT.  I have re read your post with a German (Sascha from V&S).  I think I understand more what you are asking.

                              @Giles:

Although these are limited to 125. I will make extra (same cut but different patch), so I have room for manoeuvre (swapping around sizes) when they are delivered. We'll swap the patches if we need to.  This is what we did for the IHxBxHCx25oz

Well now that's interesting.  Any ideas why there are different degrees of shrinkage based on geography?

I think that it is a function of the aggressiveness or otherwise of the washing machines.  Tom always sends me stuff to do shrink tests on because she knows I will get more than her…

Couldn't it just be as simple as water temperature in the machines? Drying habits and temp too maybe.

The spin on mine is high, higher and peel the fucker off with a spatula.
