I have few real problems with cats, dogs, or other, but they don't belong in the house. That punk ass cat toughens up real quick when he has to live in the barn. Of course, he might be inclined to chew your hand off if you try to pet him, but I'll take that trade to keep him out of my house. The dog won't care as much unless it's cold.

I felt the same at first, until I realized with every foreshadowing in earlier episodes, they were setting pieces in stone that had to be completed, there was no other end possible. Once I saw that and looked at all of the loose ends they closed in the finale, and I was ultimately satisfied with it.

That's probably quite a popular opinion on this non-mainstream board :). I did enjoy Ellen crashing twitter but am annoyed at myself for liking it.

Didn't realise that there were strict rules about such things.

Interesting.  There are obviously some people that take this very seriously.  Having quickly gone through "The Rules", however, it looks like tomatoes and tomato products are still ok, no?  I don't see tomatoes being caught under the following rule:

                                        2. NO FILLERS IN CHILI - Beans, macaroni, rice, hominy, or other similar ingredients are not permitted.

                                        Any my favourite rule:

                                        G. PYROTECHNICS - No chili contestant may discharge firearms or use any pyrotechnics or explosives at a chili cookoff. Contestants discharging firearms and/or using explosives or other pyrotechnics will be disqualified from the chili cookoff.

Yeah, my rules are pretty strict but that's just my opinion. To me part of the skill of making a superior chili con carne is to be able to do so without adding a bunch of adulterants. Amazing what the simplicity of time, beef, and pepper can accomplish. Since this is costly pound for pound in terms of ingredients and time, restaurants don't usually do it. So a proper Texan chili con carne is a rare gem indeed.

I do serve over rice and garnish with jalapeño, cilantro, queso fresco, and crema.

EDIT: All this chili talk has me posting one of my recipes. I'll post pictures when I start the cook:
