Unpopular opinions
-
Just watched last 8 episodes of breaking bad and now feel let down. I loved it up until the last 5 min.
-
I felt the same at first, until I realized with every foreshadowing in earlier episodes, they were setting pieces in stone that had to be completed, there was no other end possible. Once I saw that and looked at all of the loose ends they closed in the finale, and I was ultimately satisfied with it.

I truly despise the Oscars with a venom I can't rightly explain. Burn, Hollywood, Burn.

That's probably quite a popular opinion on this non-mainstream board :). I did enjoy Ellen crashing twitter but am annoyed at myself for liking it.

If your beef "chili" has beans and tomato products in it then it's a stew.
Didn't realise that there were strict rules about such things.
-
Oh yeah: http://www.chili.org/rules.html

Interesting. There are obviously some people that take this very seriously. Having quickly gone through "The Rules", however, it looks like tomatoes and tomato products are still ok, no? I don't see tomatoes being caught under the following rule:
2. NO FILLERS IN CHILI - Beans, macaroni, rice, hominy, or other similar ingredients are not permitted.
Any my favourite rule:
G. PYROTECHNICS - No chili contestant may discharge firearms or use any pyrotechnics or explosives at a chili cookoff. Contestants discharging firearms and/or using explosives or other pyrotechnics will be disqualified from the chili cookoff.

Yeah, my rules are pretty strict but that's just my opinion. To me part of the skill of making a superior chili con carne is to be able to do so without adding a bunch of adulterants. Amazing what the simplicity of time, beef, and pepper can accomplish. Since this is costly pound for pound in terms of ingredients and time, restaurants don't usually do it. So a proper Texan chili con carne is a rare gem indeed.
I do serve over rice and garnish with jalapeño, cilantro, queso fresco, and crema.
EDIT: All this chili talk has me posting one of my recipes. I'll post pictures when I start the cook:

For me the first picture is "chiles" and the latter "chili"

I've actually been researching this all weekend. I agree with you 100%, suicide is an extremely selfish thing to do.
My mother is in the hospital again for a second time in the last year for depression and "suicidal thoughts." I've been trying to find life insurance without a suicide clause. Pretty much every single one has a 1-2yr clause regarding suicide. I don't know how I feel about life insurance and their policies regarding suicide but I need to do something to protect my family. It's an awful thing that someone can take their own life and leave a wake of mental and financial turmoil.

Holy fuck dude(s), sry to hear urb and monday. I totally agree about suicide being a cowards way out. Ive had 2 friends (one in elementary school and one in highschool) fathers do it and it fuckin sucked for everyone around them. Lots of problems financially and mentaly. My gf has had to deal with it aswell and has hated the person for years for what they did to her family.
Hope things work out for your mom Shane. Thats not a fun situation at all bro.
