Cruising through rural Connecticut on my way to the Interlaken Resort in Lakeville. This is beautiful country. I missed a number of amazing shots in my rush to get to the resort so I could get some work done.  So, you're stuck with my awesome drive by photography.

Getting wood for steam boiler to cook apple butter at Baumens

It takes alot of wood to keep boiler hot to make steam go to 80 psi to cook apple butter

The boiler will use all of this wood and more in one day.

Smoking Jamaican jerk chicken drummies over apple and pimento woods. This recipe is bomb and easy, holler if you want it. You can use direct grilling or oven roasting techniques, but the best way is pimento smoke; pimento is the allspice tree, so the sweet smoke goes perfectly with the allspice in the jerk marinade.

I also make a pineapple hot sauce but am skipping that today.

Will update this with the results in a couple of hours.

Today the 2013-14 Clipper Fleet leave Gosport for London.

Paula, a few friends and I decided to go down and watch.  I thought it would be polite to call Alex and ask if he wanted to join us.

G - "Hey, you OK"
A - "Yep"
G - "We are going to go and see the fleet set off, want to meet us down there?"
A - "I'm already here!"
G - "What you doing?"
A - "In the water inspecting the feckers….."

So I ran down to see what he was doing....

What was super-nice is that as I was chatting to Alex, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston came up to Alex and asked him exactly what he had found when doing the inspection.  There was a bit of feckin and blinding in the ensuing discourse…..
