There was also one run of a 21oz black denim with an unbleached natural went than presented as cream/light brown. It was gorgeous. And singularly unpopular. Go figure.

SBGs are pretty soft IMO... they definitely don't have that crunch that some of the other dyed weft denims have.

The idea of a black warp and white or natural weft is wild to me — I'd really love if IH made something wacky like that again sometime. Although I do completely get why it might be a tough sell. Kinda niche.

@neph93 I seem to remember you having a pair of the jeans. Maybe they were 22OZ? Was there also, maybe, a Type 3,that at some point might have been over dyed? Or am I thinking of something else?

@popvulture Levi’s was making 501s like that in the 80s-90s,but even they don’t make them anymore. Haven’t come across anyone else that makes them either.

@Tago-Mago Yo those are awesome! I love how texture they are, like a slate grey! If you work hard enough, you might even get those puppies to full faded white 😆

@neph93 I would have never thought that it would fade to a brown. All these posts are crazy to think of the possible colors and fades by just changing a few things around! I would rock those browns more than my regular chinos ✊

@popvulture Agreed! SBGs are super soft when you work them in. That's why I had to pause when I read it's black warp and weft. I really thought that maybe it was a white weft at first, hence why they get so soft.

That being said a black warp and white weft I feel like could be just straight pajamas with how comfortable they could get lol

                        Thanks @pechelman that’s really appreciated.

I like the look too @Giles, but it may inform my colour choice 👍

@jerkules you're welcome. I know this is a bit late, but was wearing this shirt today and figured a picture could help your decision. PXL_20240707_012000683.jpg

@pechelman looks rad, I really like the colour you went for! Did you use a standard dye kit like Dylon or something?

                            Thanks @jerkules
I used RIT dye using the stove top method and the "Petal Pink". Also used the fixer afterwards to prevent it from bleeding or fading too much.

Also found the original post; it lightens up a bunch after it gets a wash and dry.

Does a thread exist for the 18 oz OD version of the 301S?
I've tried a few different attempts using the search function but no dice

@GraemeE Because we do not carry the 301 or 633 models, there is not always a dedicated product thread that links to the store. Not to say that there isn't a thread started by someone else.

                                  Having just had a quick search myself, I can't see a 633S-18od

Curious, does anyone else rotate/wear/wash their denim based off the current level of “stink” and the activities to ensue? As in, wow, this one is really ripe… *pull out of rotation and add to the sweaty yard work pile and push a few more days of wear before wash.
