IH-526L - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo

@Phil_NYC great fit!
-
Thanks guys! Do you think I should give it a cold machine wash or go a few weeks / months as is?
-
@Phil_NYC welcome, very informative first post and great shots! Fit looks to be perfect
Pretty sure my first post was “when is XXXX restocking?”

Did you happen to notice how much/if the width of the sleeves tightened up?
-
The sleeve width definitely tightened up, although I didn't take those measurements. You can really see it visually though between the new and the post soak photos.
-
So tempted in this but I find denim jackets near impossible to fade unless you have a manual job. If I am an XL in the IB type 3 would those who have this recommend a large or XL after shrinkage?
-
@Gavin666 I have been wearing my 526L 1-2 times a week since this last release (june-ish?) and indigo has already started to chip away with casual wear only. I'm satisfied with my size choice as I sized it for layering. I can see how trying to get a trim fit on this run could require some legwork up front based on measuring your current jacket.
I have all but boiled my jacket to try to bring the length in an additional inch. If you do decide to order, it may be worth asking the team for a specific length if that's a concern of yours.
-
Sorry, to answer your question, I took a 3X which is my typical type 3 sizing. I'm normally a 2-3X in IH tops. I could have prob taken a 2X in this batch with careful washing. Sorry if this makes things more confusing for you.
-
@worn2fade I just noticed you had a similar concern on your t3! Bummer, I was hoping to see how yours would evo as it seemed like you were putting it through it's paces! I'm sure you'll give the slub hell.
-
The latest batch of these were pretty big, at least for M-L-XL sizes. I usually wear size L IH tops but I got a tag size M for the 19L and I can layer with whatever I want, UHF’s and thick hoodies included.

Post wash fit. Didn’t measure before and after, put my cloth measure tape in new, thought better easier to find spot. after measured my new 634XHSib and can’t find it now lol. Sure around somewhere. Plus was excited get this washed/dried after driving back to SF. Really happy with the fit, everything shrank up to exactly how would want it. Did triple soak, hot water, first one with soap, and then 2 extra rinses get off all the soap. Agitated it every so often, was lots of indigo on bathtub and all over my wife’s dishwashing gloves. This bad boy is def stiff af(especially since my lefty OD, really broken in rn) but looking forward to breaking it in. And see if can go the distance with it.Edit jus noticed my dog photo bombed every pic, such a good girl, sticking tight always.

@Phil_NYC fit is awesome man! Congrats on grabbing your grail!
-
@catdad1 yeah dude I really wish I went TTS in this one. I’m not grabbing the slub though, that just happened to be the one I tried on that I fell in love with the fit.
@Gavin666 after 140 days on mine working from home in-front of a laptop I’d have to disagree with ya haha. The blue collar dudes definitely have an advantage but you can definitely fade the jacket not working a manual job. Given, I do hike, and do other outdoor activities in my denim when given the chance. When it comes to sizing, go true to size unless you plan on layering heavily. I sized up one size and I’m able to wear a 12oz western and an 18oz cpo under it along with a t-shirt if I really wanted to. If you’re doing light layering or just planning to wear a T-shirt, go true to size.
-
@Gavin666 you can see the homie @meatmarketdenim1 went TTS in his and look how stellar that fit is.

@worntofade - thanks man, appreciate it. I followed your journey with the lefty and it definitely influenced my sizing choice. You and I are very similar measurements wise. I'm 6 ft 195, 42 inch chest, 34 waist. It seemed to me you went 1 size too big, especially given how perfectly fitted your shirts and jeans are. Love your style.
-
@Phil_NYC heck yeah dude, glad you’re not repeating my mistake brotha. Enjoy! Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
I originally thought I needed that extra room to layer some denim underneath, silly ol’ me!
