IHM-48-BLK - 12oz Whipcord Lightweight N1 Deck Jacket - Black
-
@r0y it's funny I must run cold, I'd happily wear my N1 all winter long in London
-
I love this jacket. I’ve always loved my other N1s and I’m stoked now I can wear this all the time in LA. Fit is great with my normal N1 size.
-
@m4xime yeah it’s probably a me a thing. It didn’t help that I sized my old n1 a little small. Added to the overheating issues! Lovely jacket tho.

Real shame on this one and it’s the second best jacket I have ever laid my hands on! The chest (in large) is 1.5” more than my XL flannels so for a jacket that should have made it spot on and I was worried about the sleeves being too short now but no, they were perfect. What I didn’t take into account was just how narrow the shoulders were. It made the jacket so tight when done up even though the chest had plenty of room. Also, the cuffs were so tight it was near claustrophobic and I couldn’t wear a watch comfortably and when I did it was difficult to tell the time! Hopefully this will be rereleased one day and resized. Oh and without d pockets would get my vote!

@Gavin666 The D pockets are the best bit! (You can please some of the people some of the time...)
-
@will6er I like the look of the pockets too. I have the khaki one and I went XXXL to get perfect shoulder measurement. I do have to say that it would be an improvement that the top block of the jacket would be slightly roomier and the bottom half not so wide. But like you said ^ can't please everyone and everyone is different.
I found a way for myself to live with the fit and idk plan to wear it a lot also in hope that it ''breaks in'', but I'll have to see how it evolves since whipcord is a tough one. I might just go for a walk in pouring rain on purpose and do some outdoor stuff with it etc.
The fabric is as said really really nice.

cord-collar pushed me across the line -
Just picked one up from Self Edge in NYC. Absolute banger of a jacket. Love the D pockets, the stitching, the corduroy collar. Great stiffness from the whipcord. Can't wait to wear the f out of this thing and see how it evolves.

Mine just arrived a couple of days ago - my first IH product! I have yet to wear it other than trying it on (XXL is a perfect fit). I see that it is sulphur-dyed. Will I need to be concerned with significant crocking? Is this going to discolour the cuffs, hems, or collars of some of the shirts I wear underneath?
-
@ledfut1965 I doubt it since it's whipcord and will fade really slowly.
-
These went fast. Any plans to restock these this season, or is this it?

Snagged a large on Guilty Party with their Black Friday sale. I was able to try on a medium at Self Edge but it was a touch too tight all around, so I'm pretty confident a large will fit well. Looking forward to getting this.

Recently bought one of these in size large from Dant. Fairly boxy fit but I think it fits the style. That said, I don’t think I’d be able to fit anything thicker than a light sweater underneath. 5’10”, 185lbs.

Just got this delivered today. Amazing jacket with some unfortunate sizing issues for me. I am 6 ft 185 with a 43" chest. I went with the XL (my UHF size), but it is too big in the chest and way too big in the waist and opening, but pretty good in the shoulders and perfect in the sleeves and length. The problem is that the sleeves on the L would be too short for my arms. Since these sold like hotcakes, maybe next year they will come back with a more reasonable chest/waist/opening width and a normal sleeve length.
-
I thought it was possible to only use this as a shell over a hoodie, but the sleeve opening is too tight as well. It made it difficult to take the jacket off over the hoodie, as it gets stuck at the wrist. For next time, please consider making it a normal sleeve opening so that the buttons can be functional to cinch it down if needed.
-
@xaqh I'm with you 100% on those tiny sleeve openings! I am a very similar height, weight, and chest, and went with L. I've just been treating my jacket and hoodie as one and it's not too bad. But I've found a UHF cuff under there to be almost impossible! The sleeve opening is my only complaint about this beauty. I might try opening and resewing one of the seams in the cuffs at some point, to give them a slit. For now though, just gonna accept these tiny little sleeve holes, because everything else about this jacket is just chefs kiss!

Wore my size Large today for the first time. I'm absolutely in love with this thing. I'm a typical size Medium in most American brands and I have enough room to layer with a thick Dehen full moto hoodie underneath.
I will echo the sleeve openings being tiny but it works perfectly for my thinner wrists. The button cinches on the wrist are basically useless because even I would never use them with how narrow the opening is. With the bulky cuffs on the Dehen hoodie, it was basically filling out the entire sleeve opening right before the point of feeling tight.
