WESCO-MRLOU-NATH - Wesco® - 10" Horsehide Engineer Boot - Natural. The "Mister Lou"
-
@Damocles
Hi mateI think two coats at first should be just fine, then apply a another two down the line.
And yes I personally wouldn't apply the leader oil yet, six to eight months is a good time to apply after you have worn the boots in for a bit, they can take a good beating !

Grabbed one mate, they are absolutely amazing

-
Incoming. This 30 year old bag needs a friend!

-
How do these size compared to Iron Rangers?
-
@jdwaid I generally find Wesco to size pretty similarly to Redwing, or at least your Redwing sizing makes for a good starting point to try if you've never tried Wesco before.
If you'd like to get into the specifics you can always shoot me a DM or Email and i'll advise as best i can.
-
@Ross thanks I really appreciate it
-
@jdwaid In terms of sizing the Mr Lous, choose your regular width and go half a size down from your Brannock measurement.
-
What. A. Fit.

-
Hey there....can I size these the same as my Mister Lou in chromexcel?
-
@j6550 Yes.
-
@indigostiff Great! Thanks.
-
These just landed today, and gotta say: amazing! The fit, the leather... everything. Thanks for all the help @Jack

-
Flawless! I honestly think your pair looks slightly better than mine and I thought mine were pretty damn perfect. Congrats

-
@northsouthdenimguy thanks! I’m a lucky man!
-
Just took delivery of my pair and they look and fit great. Mine did come with a small nick on the outside facing of the shaft. It's deep enough that I can feel where it is when I run my finger on the inside of the shaft but it's not a hole. I'm wondering if this is something that I should be concerned about or is this just natural scarring from the hide and I should just wear them. The imperfection doesn't bother me but it might if it will probably worsen.

-
@j6550 I would call whomever sold them to you and look for a return or a discount.
-
That looks like a scar that split during finishing. If they’re destined to be worn hard, I wouldn’t let it bug me. But if you were expecting a cleaner pair, I’d contact them and see what they say.
