Thank you @Jord I will say that although this pair was fading quite nicely from consistent wear and wash from using it for over a yr, after a 1 time quick bleach soak to sanitize them it did brighten and lighten the pair up noticeably. Tbh consequent machine washes since that initial bleach soak have expedited indigo loss since then. They are still my go-to work pair so excited to see how the journey in them continues. Will update as needed.
Edit to add - enjoy your journey into the world of what IH offers - denim and beyond
Update on the 18 ouncers - freshly machine washed and dried weekly, they’re still going strong minus the crotch & knee areas wearing thin. Not looking forward to sending them in for repairs when the time comes.
Finally got the safety pin 🥳 Not the original location it was planned for, but for the time being it’ll do.

@Tago-Mago in all seriousness I love the shirt on her!
Hopefully she says the same when you wear it, instead of “you’re stretching my favorite shirt out!”
@SelvedgeMack you must be confused. Surely it was you who hijacked the wife’s shirt.
Didn’t realize it was quite the process! Great job on your knife and thank you for the explanation @Desperado213 . It’s gotten me intrigued to the point i started watching a few vids of micarta on yt
Thanks @Oaktavia @JunkPants Wasn’t too concerned by how light they got with the bleach soak, but wanted to record it and be transparent as it wasn’t by natural wear and wash. They are truly a work pair, so just trying to feel clean in them at this point. I’m hella ocd at home so work is always a big challenge when walking into a unit and shit looks like a haunted house if Fear Factor ever had an episode on filming the housing we get contracted, it would be a horror/comedy. Probably the biggest reason why I like everything super clean and sterile at home.
Sounds like a cool project! Would love to see the process of how you went about turning 21oz into micarta and if you get your hands on some patches how you make a slip
Ended up giving these a bleach soak over the weekend after crawling around some nasty spaces at work. Poured about half a cup of bleach into a 5 gallon bucket for 10min., threw it in the washing machine and dryer, then laid it out in the sun for about a day.
@DeeDee85 yessss hope a restock is soon for you to enjoy a pair!
@SKT thank you They will need to be sent in for repairs sometime in the near future, but still lots of life in them so keeping them going as long as possible. 18oz vintage might be my ultimate favorite denim by IH.
Mini hearts for iron heart cuz I ain’t about to flip anyone off exteriorly, possibly internally lol
IH-777S-18oz vintage
Just to add….didn’t think these 18oz vintage are considered “heavy” at all. Got frisked for the first time going thru TSA with these on. The agent was having too much fun at 5 a.m. going over places thrice saying my jeans were too stiff and heavy. My awkward half awake answer was “oh, it must be bc I air dried them instead of putting them in the dryer ” lmfao what do you even say to that ….
Scrub-a-dub-dub freshly washed and dried
@Brandrea it sure it! Almost got the work version as well, but that would’ve been too greedy hogging all the fun and stealing from someone else’s joy
@jordanscollected this is the best compliment I’ve ever gotten in my entire life

@RoxRocks86 and looking good doing so
Thanks steel. I’d say it’s the IH, but the kids around here keep things fun. They always call out for me to play a game of volleyball or kickball once they see the work vehicles in the parking lot after work. lol. So adding to extracurricular activities to any fades in this fit.
