@Denman-John we started in arimaonsen, went through Kobe to Osaka for a quick couple nights of fun and a visit to y2, then spent the next 10 days meandering through the central kii peninsula. Tenkawa, Totsukawa, Watarase, hongu, Shingu, Nachi, etc before making our way to Ise. Of course we got all the big shrubs and hiked a few well preserved sections of the kumano kodo. When we left the peninsula we spent a night over in Nagoya before ending in shimokitazawa for two nights.

The handful of pictures above made it look like we only went to like 3 places in realizing now.

Wore the cherry LS-16 to a holiday party recently and got so many compliments on it. Like unusual number of people I didnt know stopped me to compliment it and then go on further to ask where to get one. There was a photo thing at the event that was really the only pictures we grabbed. Here's just me and the jacket with my better half cropped out. Also cameo appearances from the 398 and 634XHSMB.

the widths on mine has stayed stable from the beginning.
I recall loosing ~.5" in the lengths after that first wash and machine dry but it's been stable since then.

I kinda dislike front loaders just because of how little water they use for cleaning really heavy items like IH jeans or UHFs. There have been a couple of times my jeans have come out with visible dirt dried on the outside of them if I didnt aggressively pre-soak and rinse before putting them in the washer.

I think they make top loaders with a minimal agitator these days?

been back for a few weeks after a few weeks in Japan and finally done sorting through the photos. We were pretty far off the beaten path for most of the trip, feeling like we had Japan all to ourselves. Here's just a very small handful of photos. Enjoy!

      another agreeing comment
it wont stretch but it will mold and form to your body. The arm holes on this one are high and tight. Sizing up will be pretty big and only suitable for a layer of a hoodie or something bulky imo.

Any chance you've washed it and made a note on if it shrank?

just washed and machine dried (gasp!) mine
didnt take precise before and after measurements, but maybe lost an inch in length (exactly what I wanted and was expecting) and maybe at most ~.25" in width that im sure will stretch back with wear.

Dunno if there's a buco thread that this should go in instead?

      Thanks @Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot
I dont have one of those from samurai but have one of their aged cotton rasen? shirts that's also very nice but prefer the UES.

I may go ahead and order one of the single ribs and will report back if so.

Also, to throw in another youtube recommendation, specifically for stretching/stretches, is livingleggings. Personally, I appreciate how she approaches everything and presents it with many options to help those that arent built like her.

    • RE: IH-634-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo/Black

The measurements don't really support what I said about rise, if anything, they're basically the same, but it's the snug top block that helps hold them up to prevent them sliding down, for me and my body shape. I have a pair of 666xhsib that I sized up on that measure almost identical to some 634-18s but with a higher rust bc of the tag size jump. Maybe the legs are a little narrower but the width in the top block really feels the same.

And contrary to a number of you, wearing engineer boots seems to force me into a better posture and makes me stand better, so I will choose to wear them sometimes.

100% agree with this and traditional heeled boots in general.
Knees on the other hand make me reach for flat sneakers.

It's a great tee, the fabric has such a nice weight and texture. I was also really impressed by the long sleeve heavy version, reminded me of what might happen if the IH 14oz hoodie and 11oz tee were blended. It was pretty tempting but don't really have a need for something like that.

I snagged one in Tokyo and it's due for a wash but wanting to double check before I proceed. The sales guy there was emphatic I shouldn't put this in the dryer and that is lose an inch in length no matter what I did.

I am convinced their slub #8 is my favorite t shirt. It's just perfect. I picked up another in Osaka last month and was really sad their flannels don't really fit me right because they are really nice. I'm interested to try one of their cardigans but didn't see any in the store. Anyone have one?

Just a quick double check, but do you carry anything in your back pocket? If so, taking that out before you sit down can work wonders.
