The Flat Head Handsewn Shinki Cordovan Mid-Length Wallet — Brown

Although Flat Head calls the colour Brown, it's really much closer to a deep oxblood/burgundy.

Made from Shinki Hikaku Japanese cordovan, extensively oiled and burnished, with a yellow pigskin interior.

The wallet is made entirely by hand at Flat Head's Stockburg leather workshop in Nagano and hand-sewn using waxed cow-tendon thread.

Current retail is approximately US$1,040.

Mine has been well used and has some scuffs and scratches to the outer cordovan, which I've deliberately photographed close-up so the condition is clear. They're considerably less prominent in normal use.

Made up from three separate Good Art HLYWD sterling silver pieces:

Big Eye Clip 16 Keychain — Rosette — current retail US$1,645

Spring Ring B — current retail US$735

The Shorty Chain — current retail US$2,575

Current retail total: US$4,955

I've put the three pieces together to make the wallet chain setup shown in the photos. Overall length is approximately 12".

As you can see, mine has been very well worn and is suitably “patinated”. LOL.

The photos show the condition pretty clearly.

Does anyone know if a Tote type bag would be sufficient to carry the hat on the bike? If so any recommendations. Obviously a hard case is ideal, but they seem to be super bulky.

Hi all,

I am trying to find a bag to carry my high quality Western hat while riding my motorbike, I can pad lock the bag to the pillion handle or a shoulder type bag should work.

This isn't a cheap hat, so I don't want to stuff it up.

Hat brim measures 14" wide, 16" front to back and 5" high.

Points added for who can recognise the hat LOL

Cheers mate, yeah, they look good be they only have the smallest is stock. RMC again have very small in stock as they need to be purchased oversize to wear hight.

Frustrating that both leave out whether they need to be dry-cleaned - I would bet they do. But mush appreciation for sending me these links

Cheers mate, I only wear smartwool socks, love em. Icebreaker do a couple of decent Chinos, they do make good gear, but now manufactured off shore in China, but certainly quality Chinese manufacture. I just seem to have turned into an IH bloke over the years and Japanese quality in general for outer wear.

Wool jeans or Chinos

Being someone who rides my motorcycle all year round I do get caught with soaked denim. Now I do know that jeans and chinos are not the ideal protective bike wear. I also have over wear rain pants. Obviously wet wool will still keeps you warm.

Being a big fan of Japanese vintage quality, I am asking is anyone knows of a Japanese made wool trouser - ideally they can be machine washed like merino,

I have searched, but haven't seen anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FWIW I have been riding for 30 years, so I really don't need advice on bike specific protective pants. I know their benefits

I've got the Johnny Cash from a few years ago, which is awesome, But this Embroidered version gets so many compliments that I have to make sure I don't wear it too much LOL.

This style of embroidery is next level in my opinion. I didn't pick up the other items in the collection as they didn't appeal to my personal style.

Please don't drop embroidery, especially in Western Shirts. Embroidery on Western shirts goes way back, but many are too Rodeo and few have this this level of style and balance. Denim and flannel may suit more people. I gather the sales will dictate the continuation - I don't know if there is a possibility of embroidery being a pimp out accessory, obviously this would take time to complete.

This really is a killer shirt, I get so many compliments on it. I'm actually surprised there are still some available.10/10 for me. Love to see more releases with this style of embroidery - Western flannel shirts perhaps?

I will have to check on all the options that he offers in terms of customizing, leather etc. to really understand and anticipate how it would look. That is quite easy with Wesco because they have a configuration visualising the changes.

No probs, he is an artisan and there aren't the options like Wesco, Nicks, Whites etc. But you do have one guy hand building the boots. The only comparable maker is the states is JD Gabbard from Kreosote and same kind of wait list, and he won't do any changes to his boot styles or leather choices LOL but again he is awesome when you speak with him. Both make grail boots and far less people own Kreosote - insanely good and a couple of boots he designed specifically from riders - oh and Brian from Roleclub is also working or has completed his new bike specific boot as he recently bought a Harley.
