@SonnyTheElder Nice! I have the C350 CS in red dog roughout. Very similar boot only yours are hand stitched and mine are machine stitched I believe. Wearing mine as I type and they're probably my most comfortable boot. Seriously chunky too!

RE: Red Wing Shoes
@NorvilleRogers My Merchant's are the snuggest fit and my Rover and 4585 Logger are a lot more spacious but they both feel different to each other as well. I wear a Darn Tough full cushion sock in those but would be too snug in the Merchant.

RE: Red Wing Shoes
@SFMCfranky Nice! the engineers are in good shape considering their age/use. Iron rangers are looking great!

RE: Red Wing Shoes
@NorvilleRogers Love those. There do seem to be variations in boots made on the same last. I've got a few pairs on the 8 last, same size but all fit slightly different.

RE: Red Wing Shoes
@SKT Mine are. Most comfortable Red Wings I've owned actually.

RE: Viberg
@will6er Classic! I've had a pair for a few years and they're holding up great

RE: Show us your boots
@Rick448 Those Stows look like a pair I sold recently. Love that burgundy

RE: Show us your boots
@indigostiff They are amazing. Sadly I think Vasque are finished now and the recent boots were nowhere near the standard of yours

RE: Red Wing Shoes
@WhiskeySandwich Certainly was lucky! if I see any I'll let you know. I think Hawthorne has become a new favourite after being unsure if I'd like it.

RE: White's Boots
@spitfiredealer I'm breaking in a pair in red dog rough out and find they take some getting used to. I've never found them uncomfortable though, just different to walk in and I'm aware of the arch but like it.

RE: Red Wing Shoes
@WhiskeySandwich I found an unworn pair recently and they're the most comfortable Red Wings I've ever worn.

RE: Tricker's
@wdw:
Nice score. I have a few pairs of Trickers Stow boots for work and they're very decent quality indeed. Better than anything similar, such as Church, Grenson or Crocket and Jones, IMHO. Having said that, my similar Wesco FP6s make the Stows seem a tad light now.
Strange as I have a pair of Stows and Bourtons as well as 3 pairs of Crockett & Jones and one pair of Church's.
I personally don't feel the Trickers are better quality than the others, if anything possibly the C&J/Church's slightly have the edge. Minimal though.
I think certain Church's models are much better than others, the classic models tend to be better I've heard.
All 3 brands are very nice though

RE: SOCKS
I had seen a pair of Anonymousism I liked the look of but on hearing all the bad reports I think I'll give them a miss! Not cheap either so you'd want them to last.
The Red Wing socks look good but not tried them.
-
RE: SOCKS
Not good! Were they fairly new?
no. they're about 1-1.5 yrs old. I had about 4-5 pairs of Anonymousism and am now down to 1 pair because I had to throw the others ones out. I'll be spending my money on smart wool and/or darn tough in the future.
Good to know. Might give them a miss then.

RE: SOCKS
Do you find all 3 comparable in quality and comfort?
Smartwool are much more readily available in the UK but don’t have the lifetime warranty like darn tough.
They seem decent though
-
RE: SOCKS
Thanks for that.
The fact that Chup are tight to get on could be a problem as i’m UK 11
I agree, that’s the draw with the Chup socks, the patterns are great.
Darn Tough feel great on, wick moisture well and seem to keep the temperature just right but like the Iron Heart socks they just look a bit boring!
Oh well boring but functional might be the way to go.

RE: SOCKS
I have a pair of Darn Tough which are the best socks I have tried so far. I was just wondering how the likes of Chup compare?
I like the designs Chup produce but do they compare in quality and comfort to Darn Tough?
I share this same doubt. Never owned Chups, love Darn Tough but interested in Chup’s cool designs. I believe I read somewhere that Chup were tight to put on/take off.
Also, how does Chup compare with Thunder Love?
I think Chups designs are better than Darn Tough but then again Darn Tough are primarily hiking/outdoor socks.
I like the look of Thunders Love too, the only thing that puts me off is that they are cotton and not wool. Not sure how important that is but I definitely find Merino nice to wear.
I have a pair of Tenderfoot socks which are nice but have shrunk to the point I can barely get them on now.
