Hooray, UHR weather is back!
Hooray, UHR weather is back!
I had my eye on this one for a while and was very happy that it restocked immediately before the summer sale and before my loyalty voucher expired. The fabric feels a little heavier than my 3sixteen heavyweight hoodie, and it’s definitely a more dense/tighter weave. It’s also cut tighter around the waist, which I was surprised to find I like better, especially with the stretch and double zipper. It’ll be ideal for my watching NFL in my garage man cave this fall/winter.
Size XL fits me perfectly. XXL would’ve made me look like a 1990s rapper. I’m 5’11”, 215 lbs, if that helps.
After a couple days of heel-dragging, I got the 14 oz black zip hoodie. Have had my eye on that one for a while.
Good to know that the IH UK Crew has been inundated with 300+ orders since Friday. If I hear from you folks before the end of this week, I’ll consider myself lucky.
@Alex The loyalty vouchers are much appreciated, especially when prices (inevitably) increase.
If I purchase fewer IH items in the future, it’ll be because I have a bunch of it already and my closet has limited space. It won’t be because of the price increase, which is dwarfed by the price increases at my local grocery store over the past couple of years. We all understand that Japan is facing serious economic challenges right now and it’s nice to support a Japanese business that means a lot to all of us. We’re also thankful to be in a position to do so.
Arrived today. Thanks again to @Bailey for the accurate measurements for this one and also the 326-OD that he helped me with last year. I almost always have to cuff IH long-sleeved shirts and the snaps really help with that. Can’t wait to break this one in and begin fading it.
@JunkPants same here. It’s only cold enough where I live to wear UHFs maybe 30 days a year. The pits of mine are getting a little gnarly because I tend to sweat a lot.
That said, if I lived in Minneapolis or Edmonton, I’d probably own ten of them because they’re so warm and so well done.
@AdamJ , thanks for the update.
@AdamJ , any update on the restock status?
One of my all-time faves as well. Also very doable as a winter jacket when the temperature is in the 40-50 F range.
@JunkPants JFC, that’s a lot of indigo lost in less than a month of wear!
@indigostiff That happened to me last summer when I wore 21 oz IHs through the airport. Was a bit surprised by that.
Even with the high price point, I may still snag one of these. Very cool design.
Nice to see IH using more summer-friendly fabrics. Definitely getting one of these.
Bummer. Is F/W 2024 a possibility?
@WhiskeySandwich Yeah, I’m planning on sharing my progress here as well. I work a desk job, so don’t get your hopes up.
I’m going with a pair of 666-XHS. Maybe I’ll actually finish this time.
Seriously, though, I like how it begins and ends in the winter this time. That seems to be ideal for XHS, UHR, 19L, and other heavy denim that’s not comfortable in the summer months. There’s enough cold/cool weather in the first 3-4 months for some good fade progress, and then you have that nicely broken-in pair waiting for you to fade some more in October when you’re yearning to put on heavy denim again.
Since I want 2-3 pairs in a rotation in any given season am also not nearly hardcore enough to wear XHS any more than sparingly in the summer, I’m shooting for a modest goal of 150 wears this time. I treat the Invitational as a nice structured program to achieve some cool fades, with the added benefit of me not having to care about the competitive angst that comes with subjective judging.
Get ready to crank that A/C, Rox.
