Yeah I noted in my order to ask the crew to send the smallest XL they have. If that doesn’t work I’ll order a Large and ask them to send the biggest one.
This is a strange shirt in that it has a full 2” gap in width between the L and the XL
@Tago-Mago I have possibly the nerdiest and the most thorough size-checking process of anyone on the forum which is why this one particular order is troubling me 
I have a spreadsheet that contains the sizes of every item I own (15 of which are IH items), along with my ideal size for each measurement. I then take the measurements of items I'm looking to order and key them in, and the spreadsheet tells me how much each garment deviates from my ideal size (in inches and %), as well as what other single existing item I already own that is most similar in size to the item I'm looking at purchasing.
Where this system fails is for an item like the IHTL-1213...
So I look at two stockists who have models wearing this shirt (below):
Franklin: The model is 5'10", 175lbs wearing a large. Shirt fits the model perfectly (other than shoulders being too wide)
Withered: The model is 6'0", 175lbs wearing a large. Shirt fits the model perfectly (again, aside from the shoulders)
I am 5'9" 162, so naturally a large would be my appropriate size right? It probably would be a bit too big, since I am smaller than the models. Nope - the IH measurements guide indicates I might not even be able to get a large over my chest, and I should order an XL. Make it make sense...
I ordered the XL but I'm reasonably certain I should have just ordered the large. The XL surely cannot be an inch smaller than the same shirt in a Large in a different color...
@goosehd any estimate on what it costs (approximately) to return a single shirt from US to UK?
I am between two sizes as well and wondering if its worth the return shipping cost to try both. If it's ~$15 USD then yes. If it's closer to $30 probably will just go with the Medium
Really wish the silver buttons were in stock right now. Speaking of which, what size are the buttons on this (should the silver ones get restocked later and I decide to retrofit them on at that point)?
Cool story, and similar to my journey, in that I started with a single pair of 555S-SBG that arrived just before a trip to Japan during which I bought 13 other Japanese denim items (12 jeans and one Jacket), including the same 555-XHS that you went to right after the black.
I then took the same path as you (less stuff, but better) by unloading about $2000 worth of clothes on eBay while simultaneously going completely batshit in the other direction by buying 14 Iron Heart shirts/jackets/jeans in a 60 day period...
More is less. But also more...

Are you sure about that measurement on the 308 P2P? That is really small for an XL. In fact that is the exact P2P measurement of this shirt in size Medium. Might be interested if its accurate but I'm guessing that's a typo?
The Medium is just a little too small for me, so looking to trade this for a Large if anyone needs to size down.
Would also consider trade for the work shirt version IHSH-376 but that would need to also be a medium or a small, since they run larger than the western.
Not looking to trade for anything else in this case.

IH main store in Tokyo is a looong way from Tokyo proper, so not really worth the trip unless you have a lot of days in the city. On the other hand if you're in Osaka that location is much more convenient

This is a great call out, I just posted in the “things we should make” thread just a couple of days ago how I wish there was a version of the XHSIB that was non-fade…
I will get a pair of the non-fade black jeans once my SBG start to fade, but the XHSIB is literally the most beautiful denim in the entire world. To see it start fading would be such a disappointment.

Haven’t seen anything short sleeve from IH that I have to have so far. Really unfortunate because I live in Florida, so it’s gonna be hard to rep any of this stuff in the summer.

That is such an interesting take, I literally bought the duck pants in the 666 fit just to get that patch, even though I don’t like the fit as much as the 555 and 777.
Every time I put them on, I think “damn these would look a lot better in a 555“ but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get the three 6 patch on a pair of pants.
Just a few ideas of items I think would be cool to see, as well as some colorways I'd love in just the normal UHF Western/Work style.
For some of these I added a render that sort of represents how this looks in my head.

@Jord 100%. I bought something like 12 or 13 pairs of jeans when i was in Japan in December and since I got home with them I've worn non-IH for a total of 4 days. Two days on some Oni's and two days (including today) on a pair of Samurai's

Tried to snag an Olive BIGBUCK too, but I missed my shot and it was too late. The buck ran off before I got to it.
@Jord I almost pulled the trigger on those too, but couldn't get over how shitty the selvedge line looks. I knew every time I picked them up to wear them I would just go to my Samurais or PBJs instead. I did just get their Indigo Sugiaya pants this week, which are great.
The texture is cool on the MIJs though!
