    • My IH haul after one month enlisted

It's been one month since my enlistment in the IH army. How did I do for a haul after one month of service?

      7 items: 3 bottoms, 4 tops

      • 555-XHS
      • 555-SBG
      • 666D
      • IHSH-370-BLU
      • IHSH-337-GRN
      • IHSH-189-BRN
      • IHSH-428-GRN

Tried to snag an Olive BIGBUCK too, but I missed my shot and it was too late. The buck ran off before I got to it.

    • RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?

Just a few ideas of items I think would be cool to see, as well as some colorways I'd love in just the normal UHF Western/Work style.
For some of these I added a render that sort of represents how this looks in my head.

      • Project RE:LOVE Camera Straps. Superblack Fades to Grey as an option in addition to Indigo, please!
      • Project RE:LOVE Pet collars. 3/4" to 1" width, various lengths. Would have all three of my cats geared up accordingly if this was a thing. Again, SBG option is a must!
      • Denim/Duck/Oxford caps but with patches from the jeans. I would love an IH hat with the 555 or 666 jeans patch on it.
      • IH leather messenger bag. A nice neutral brown or maybe even deerskin. Duck canvas or flannel interior lining. The cool thing about this is if you make the Re:Love camera straps I mentioned above they're interchangeable with messenger bag straps
      • UHF in Deebo pattern. Surely this has already been requested before, but I didn't read all 15,000 posts...
      • UHF in a deep maroon colorway, maybe maroon plus darker maroon, and tan
      • UHF in a black watch tartan colorway (navy/hunter/black)
      • XHSib in a non-fade version... if that's even possible
      • IH Alpaca wool blankets in darker UHF patterns. Blacks, Browns. I have an alpaca wool blanket from Shinola and its the softest fabric I've ever felt. Would love one of these with a nice tartan pattern and an Iron Heart tag

    • RE: Introduce Yourself Here

Greetings from Florida, new member here. 44 years old. Long post incoming, as I am now down a spiral of seemingly never-ending expenditure.

I recently made a trip to Japan - my 2nd trip there, but first trip since my interest piqued in Japanese denim. I was aware of selvedge denim for at least a decade, having watched a few videos here and there on Youtube, I just never went further than that. However, prior to this trip, for whatever reason I clicked on a video or two about Japanese denim; the videos from 'Fjorde' and 'Iron Snail' in particular really caught me and sent me down a rabbit hole - I decided I had to buy some.

So about a month prior to departure, I made it my mission to visit as many denim stores during my trip as possible, and stock up on jeans while I could get them cheap (relative to import pricing, I guess). I pinned twenty four stores on our travel map, between Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka (and Hong Kong, where we spent 3 days at the end of the trip). I was feeling strongly pulled in the direction of a few specific brands due to their reputation, style, cuts, and branding: SDA, PBJ, Momotaro, Samurai, and Iron Heart. So stops at all of these shops were in order, among others.

Prior to leaving however, I couldn't resist the urge to go ahead and order just one pair, to see if dedicating a good 10-15% of our trip was worth it, or if I was just obsessing for no reason. The brand and model that I chose to start with was Iron Heart 555 SBG. I ordered from Division Road, and it arrived in about 3 days. I put them on, and knew immediately, my obsession was totally warranted. This trip just got a bit more expensive.

During the 17 days, I dragged my [quite supportive, all things considered] wife to each of the following stores, trying on denim:

Sapporo: Flamingo, Unique & Sons, Kapital, Daimaru, Warehouse, and Sapporo BASE
Tokyo: All four Hinoya stores at Ueno station, PBJ, Momotaro, M'Arijuan, Tools Infinity, and Sun House Jinnan
      Osaka: Hinoya Namba, SDA
Hong Kong: Workware, Hide & Seek, Black Riot, Take5

Ironically, since we were there during the final 7 days of the. year the 3 shops I most wanted to visit (Iron Heart Osaka, Iron Heart Hachioji, and Samurai Osaka) were all closed! So we'll get to those three next time. My wife even got the bug and snagged a cool pair of TCB's, the 'Cathartt's with the little flaps over the pockets, and heart-shaped buttons.

Attached are a few pics of my haul (I also bought a Momotaro jacket and an Evisu jacket). Upon returning to the states and wearing most of this stuff, I've realized IH is by far my favorite, and have since ordered or wish listed six more (IHSH-428, IHSH-189, IHSB-BIGBUCK, IHSB-BB-NAT, 526J-SLB, and 555S-SLB).

I suppose I'm stuck here now...

    • The inspiration for the first Iron Heart flannel?

I want to point out something that I think has not been observed before (either here, or elsewhere).

I might only have noticed this because Takeshi Kitano is my favorite filmmaker of all time, and I've watched this movie many times over the last 20 years, but the IHSH-01 / IHSH-332 flannels are virtually identical to a shirt that the main character Shigeru wears in the 1991 surfing film 'A Scene at the Sea'

The pattern is 90% the same (minus the yoke), while the colorway is 100% identical.

So what do we think.... was Haraki-san a fan of this film, or is this just a coincidence?

On a related note, this shirt is my #1 IH wish list item (mostly because of my love for the film), so if anyone wants to sell yours, let me know!

Arrived today. Might have to pull out the 666D tomorrow and try them together - The Duxedo!

Looking forward to the weather cooling off on Monday night, supposed to drop below 70 😁 ...so I can see how well this thing absorbs (or hopefully doesn't absorb) cigar smoke

said in IHSB-BIGBUCK-NAT - Deerskin Western Shirt 'The Big Buck' - Natural:

Got mine ordered! Been waiting on this one for a while

Welp...my heretofore flawless experience with Iron Heart has finally come to an abrubt end. I discovered the brand in November 2025, and have since purchased 26 pieces totaling $8,780 over these past 7 months and had nothing but a perfect experience every time (from the quality of the product to the level of service from each of the stockists).

However, all good things must come to an end I suppose, and the BIGBUCK is the one that ended my streak of luck with the brand. I placed my order for this at 11:01am ET the day of the drop (yes, less than 60 seconds after they went live), but was notified today that the only shirt available to fulfill my order was the one pictured, where the pocket on one side of the shirt was sewn on crooked and twice as far away from the placket as the pocket on the other side.

I thought about it and knew that I would never be able to get past having paid full fare for the one shirt in the batch that was defective so if ANYONE else purchased this shirt in Large and decide you don't want it, or it doesn't fit, please message me before you return your shirt to IH. I may be interested in buying it from you.

100% bummed about this, as I had been waiting for this shirt literally since i discovered this brand. I guess I can take the wife to a very nice dinner with the $1500 coming back into my account. For anyone else who isn't particular about your clothing, there will be one more Large coming up for sale on the site shortly!

      @Go-For-Chill
That is such an interesting take, I literally bought the duck pants in the 666 fit just to get that patch, even though I don’t like the fit as much as the 555 and 777.

Every time I put them on, I think “damn these would look a lot better in a 555“ but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get the three 6 patch on a pair of pants.

    • RE: DAS - Denim Acquisition Syndrome

Cool story, and similar to my journey, in that I started with a single pair of 555S-SBG that arrived just before a trip to Japan during which I bought 13 other Japanese denim items (12 jeans and one Jacket), including the same 555-XHS that you went to right after the black.

I then took the same path as you (less stuff, but better) by unloading about $2000 worth of clothes on eBay while simultaneously going completely batshit in the other direction by buying 14 Iron Heart shirts/jackets/jeans in a 60 day period...

More is less. But also more...

Two more IH items coming my way later this week with the restocks for this week... and my current Iron Heart Wish List is 30 items. I could only fit a few in my forum signature so I just stopped bothering to update it 😄

    • RE: IHTL-1213-IND - Waffle Knit Long Sleeved Thermal Henley - Indigo Dyed

@Tago-Mago I have possibly the nerdiest and the most thorough size-checking process of anyone on the forum which is why this one particular order is troubling me 😠

I have a spreadsheet that contains the sizes of every item I own (15 of which are IH items), along with my ideal size for each measurement. I then take the measurements of items I'm looking to order and key them in, and the spreadsheet tells me how much each garment deviates from my ideal size (in inches and %), as well as what other single existing item I already own that is most similar in size to the item I'm looking at purchasing.

Where this system fails is for an item like the IHTL-1213...

      • I have this shirt in L in two other colors
      • For the Indigo color, the size chart seems to indicate I should wear an XL, because the P2P measurement is 21.7" (my ideal is 21.5)". My large versions of this shirt in White and Black are 21.3 and 20.9" respectively. For this shirt in Indigo the size chart says 19.7" for a Large, which is more than an inch smaller in width than the other colors

So I look at two stockists who have models wearing this shirt (below):
Franklin: The model is 5'10", 175lbs wearing a large. Shirt fits the model perfectly (other than shoulders being too wide)
Withered: The model is 6'0", 175lbs wearing a large. Shirt fits the model perfectly (again, aside from the shoulders)

I am 5'9" 162, so naturally a large would be my appropriate size right? It probably would be a bit too big, since I am smaller than the models. Nope - the IH measurements guide indicates I might not even be able to get a large over my chest, and I should order an XL. Make it make sense...

I ordered the XL but I'm reasonably certain I should have just ordered the large. The XL surely cannot be an inch smaller than the same shirt in a Large in a different color...

IH main store in Tokyo is a looong way from Tokyo proper, so not really worth the trip unless you have a lot of days in the city. On the other hand if you're in Osaka that location is much more convenient

Have fun on the slopes, I was just in Sapporo but didn't have time to ski. Bought some denim though!

Performing your disappointment in this space for all the world to see must be a thrill. Perhaps you think you’ll receive more apologies this way, or just make more folks feel bad or somehow guilty for something they don’t have control over.

I guess I'm never too old to learn something new! 44 years old and all this time I thought companies who sold clothing had some level of control over the quality of the product they sell.

What's even wilder is I thought they might even rely on their customers to provide them with feedback on the products they buy in order to improve said quality, but that's obviously nonsense too

      Thanks for setting us straight!

@blue2gnt I think you confuse what the IH brand as a company thinks of the big buck's production issues vs what the majority of the forum users feel.

I can't tell if you mean that IH takes the issue more seriously, or if forum users take the issue more seriously? But it doesn't matter. My shirt arrived today. I love it. End of story.

Is it mildly annoying that it isn't as perfectly constructed as other IH gear that cost much less? Of course. Do I care? Not at all. That's why I chose to keep it.

For anyone who responded to my earlier post and turned this thread into a discussion about something other than the product itself, please check your browser address bar. You'll find it says forum.ironheart.co.uk. It does not say cult.ironheart.co.uk. That is a subtle but important distinction about the purpose of this place, and why many of us choose to spend time here. 👌🏻
