Man, I honestly don’t know how y’all that do the elf on the shelf do it! My oldest is 7 and he has said he has friends that do it, and I’ve already explained to him that it’s just parents having fun with him. I have felt like such a grinch, though!

Should also say, Santa still visits us at our house for our kids! I just don’t have the bandwidth or time (or creativity) for the elf on the shelf shit!

@chrisjohnnick ha! I need to admit that I’m not the one doing the relocating every night. And every morning it’s as much a surprise to me as it is to the kids when we find him. I mean my kids are 12 and 10 so I’m 100% positive they know it’s us, but he’s part of the family now

Now she just warned us all not to touch the food in the Smithsonian cafeteria unless u plan on buying it because the workers will throw it away. It took her 4 different plates of food to figure that out. She was not laughing, she was still confused by the situation.

We have a Japanese stroll garden here that does a really nice holiday event called “Gardens Aglow”. I think they string up over 200,000 lights throughout the garden. We take the kids every year and it’s become one of our favorite traditions.
