Disagree. I think we need to do more to recognize the level of skill required to do that job. People tend to think of pilots as barely more than overrated bus drivers, when it is actually a very demanding profession.  Most of the time flights are routine, but every flight, particularly takeoff and landing, is an opportunity for something catastrophic to happen. That the flights are instead generally routine is a fact that we shouldn't take for granted.

hmm.. maybe my love for aviation and little knowledge on how to operate an aircraft makes me see it differently hence my statement. i don't mean to take away any recognition but there's been a lot of over exaggeration on even the most simplest of landings recently.

there's no way i would ever say they are overrated bus drivers because the qualifications and training needed to get a commercial pilot license is tough as hell. even a private aircraft license is not easy to get. Not to mention after that, they need to get their certification for an aircraft type and clocking hours on the simulator etc. and having retraining depending on the fleet of the airline.

Been wearing IH-pants-only within the past couple of weeks. Four pairs are on a hemming-trip to Gosport atm. Slipped into a pair of non-IH jeans this morning, an other well known japanese brand… I changed within in a minute  ??? IH has ruined me for any other brand

I got up this am, made coffee, and noticed my IH coaster was missing. I used it last night and had definitely left it on the table. After an hour of sifting through the trash bin and tearing the house apart, I found it under my dresser in our bedroom. Suspiciously it was covered in cat hair…..

It wouldnt be the first thing Flo had stolen. Around Christmas she had taken one of my leather GA bags. I finally found it 3 weeks later under the TV stand. Long story short, my lucky coaster is back where it should be and I’ll have to watch the cat more closely [emoji19]
