@Cole - grief and loss are complex issues. On top of this I imagine you may have felt rejected and abandoned by your father due to him not being available for you over your 41 years.
My own father abandoned me and my mum when I was 18 months old and I have seen him only once when I was 32. Since then there has been zero contact between us.
It seems easier for me to hate on him for not being there for me. I know he is still alive and lives in Carlisle England. If I was to learn he had passed away I dont know how that would leave me feeling.
I understand your confusion Cole at this difficult time. Keep those you love by your side and keep sharing your feelings with them. -
Dear Cole, having lost both my parents now, my Mother in 2010 to Cancer and my Father in 2016, both these relationships were difficult, complex and at times distant.. just saying, I hear you and sending feelings of empathy and healing your way x

After completing 4 half marathons in 8 months, of which two were run to raise money for charities, I have just entered the Plusnet Yorkshire (full) Marathon in York on Sunday 8th October 2017. This time I wont be running to raise money for charity, I'll leave that till next year. The furthest I've ever run is 13.1 miles so this is a huge jump for me at 26.2 miles however, there's plenty of training time ahead. I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew :-\

. . . . . Working on doing a 5k myself, got 2 start somewhere . . . .
Go for it MM. I have exercise induced asthma and when me and Jules (who also has exercise induced asthma) started running back in March 2013 neither of us could run for more than 5 minutes continuously. I really encourage you to take on the challenge of a 5k as the benefits far outweigh the commitment, IMO
Here's a useful 5km training programme; http://www.barnardos.org.uk/challengeevents/training-5kmtrainingprogramme.pdf

Can someone link me to the "here's my IH collection" thread or whatever it's called? I was reading through it a few days ago and can't seem to find it… thanks in advance.
