      XS would be a 34 in IH jacket sizing?

        34 = XS
        36 = S
        38 = M
        40 = L
        42 = XL
        44 = XXL

        and so on

            @T4920 does she already own a denim jacket or a jacket that she likes the fit of that you could measure the IH way? That might be the best bet in trying to figure out sizing. It might also help if you know if she likes her clothes fitted or loose.

            I’m 4’9” 100lbs and right off the bat the fit of XS men’s shirts & jackets are all too long and baggy on me, plus I have a short torso. But I like the oversized fit. If ladies sizing for shirts are available I typically go for that.

            Fit pics for reference * edit to add this is the IHJ-142od in small.

                  @T4920 well looky here!! Man I remember when I first started measuring Morgan’s clothes. She’s really slim as well. Some of the XS Iron Heart westerns I could make work. I’ve got her a 33T and a Purple Acorn UHF in XS that fits her well. But not all XS works for her. It has to be on the smaller side of that size. With many XS shirts still being too big.
                  Are you trying to surprise her? I remember sneaking measuring sessions when she’d be getting ready or showering or something.

                  In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

                    @RoxRocks86 thanks for taking the time 🙂 feel like we could probably make an XS work with a slightly oversized fit 👌

                        Has anybody experience with bike-commuting in Iron Heart denim? I wear my jeans daily and I bike about 20 kilometres every day in them. I'm a little worried about the crotch blowing out far earlier than any other part of my jeans show any significant wear. Has any experience with biking in non-stretch heavy denim?

                        I ride a brooks C14 saddle which is pretty mean to any kind of jeans unfortunately.

                              @RobeOfTheMagi I am quite prone to crotch blowouts anyway but havent noticed riding my bike in speeding that up, but that being said, I often change clothes. I would say categorically that any cycling for distances in any jeans would considerably speed up the chances of any wear and tear, especially with a Brooks saddle

                                  FWIW I feel like ladies can pull of a slightly oversized look easier than men can. Well, women look better than we do on the daily, but you get my point.

                                    @RobeOfTheMagi I've been commuting in a pair of 14oz broken twills for around 6 months, 6-10 miles a day (depending on the route I take). No signs of fraying/wear in the crotch, but they have developed distinctive saddle-shaped fading in the butt!

                                    In Iron Heart terms, this is quite a lightweight denim with more natural stretch than some of our other fabrics. I've cycled a few times wearing 25oz and it's a much tougher workout - definitely make sure you've got a bit of extra room in the thighs with the heavier weaves.

                                      Cheers Sam! I find my 888s 21oz perfect for cycling - I mean in terms of comfort. Im actually mostly worried about the thick part in the crotch where the fabric comes together.

                                      I'll keep on with my personal indigo invitation (wearing mostly one pair of jeans, that is) and keep you updated :).

                                        I've been wearing some Red Wings with a Vibram Christy sole for just two weeks, and its already looking a little ground down 😞

                                          @T4920 yeah christy soles and redwing's version of that on the mocs are super soft and wear down crazy fast if you drag them. BUT, they're squishy comfy. My hardest wearing soles have been my TCX motorcycle boots/shoes -which makes sense. A happy medium is the Blacksmith/Ranger sole. Seems to be very hard wearing, but definitely less squish than the christy. I've semi-purposely dragged my feet a bit with all sorts of soles on the motorcycle to see how they react, but I gotta say (and a bit off point) i do NOT like riding in anything with heels. Flat sole is so much better for motorbikles and bicycles.
