I asked recently and while they’re later than usual Alex suggested they could pop up at any time.

I’ll be in London and Virginia Water next week on vacation (visiting wife’s childhood friends; she lived there from age 6 to 12).

If I get the time away from the wife, is IH UK HQ open for visitors/shopping? Is it hard to get to? Or even to treat the crew to a beer….

Not sure I’ll even have the time, but figured I would inquire just in case.

I visited them a few years ago,and would highly recommend a trip to Gosport. I took the train and the ferry. Really easy. Had a  great time. Definitely reach out to the crew and hopefully you/they can make it happen.

They love visitors, they love beer. They are partial to your custom. You should try and make it.

Take a train to Portsmouth Harbour, there is a ferry port next to the station. The ferry goes continuously and takes 2mins to cross the water. Then it is an easy 10min, Google Maps assisted walk.

After wearing the OD 526L all week at work, I put on V1 526L today and it felt so different. Was there a massive change in the second version of the 19oz denim? Is it the over dyeing that softnen's it? Or just the fact it has been washed a fair amount by previous people on the tour.

I'll be honest the tour jacket is winning hands down in comfort.

I’ve never had anything in the 1st generation lefty but I hear it was stiff. The 2nd gen was designed to be softer and my pair of 666 are certainly soft after some wear. The other things you mention would exacerbate that.

I wasn't around these here parts when IH produced chore/rail jackets. I get the sense that this style jacket isn't in line any year soon for a comeback… Sound about right?

It feels so different, i tempted to trade in my V1 for a OD one. But then the denim head in me doesn't like to be beaten and I might just wear it for work and try and beat some softness into it.

Understandable. IH has a strong brand identity, which is what makes it so wearable and easy to combine most items (but most brands of merit do).  It seems to have been more refined this last year or so. Moving away from 30s and 40s American workwear to more practical bike friendly wear?

                                        Hello,

I am looking to buy about 12-14 yards of Japanese selvedge chambray fabric (7-10 oz).

I have already tried searching for it in DrySelvedge, Pacific Blue, Etsy, and Premium Denim Outlet. Are there any retailers/jobbers/mills that can ship this fabric without any MOQ (minimum order quantity) to India?

                                        Thanks,
                                        Sreeni

P.S> At a time when one can buy just about everything on the internet, I find it surprising that there isn't much choice for buying selvedge fabrics.
