Awesome @caithangkhanh

@weftyarn thanks! I’m trying to get my SBG to a nice faded grey like yours.

I am eagerly waist on these to drop

While I'm waiting for these to drop, does anyone have any recommendations on sizing if you're "in between" sizes? I have the 888 21oz indigo and have to wear a belt to keep them up (doesn't bother me). I was afraid sizing down was going to be a very uncomfortable experience trying to stretch out the waist otherwise. What's been your experience?

@tdb85 I would recommend waiting for the size chart of the next run. Tag sizes can be misleading, and the most accurate way to determine the correct size is to measure a pair that fits you and compare to the measurements.
Here’s a guide on how to measure: https://ironheart.co.uk/pages/how-we-measure-bottoms
Measure your 21s according to the guide and take it from there once the new run had been measured

@tdb85 I agree with the above but will also add my two cents.
The 21oz stretches quite a bit, so I personally think it’s more forgiving than some of the other denims. I’m not sure if you might’ve based your current 888 choice of waist size on another pair of IH you’ve owned, but it’s worth considering that 888 sit higher up and people often find that they go down a size compared to, say, something like a 666 (myself included). If your current pair of 888 is indeed too big for you in the waist, I’d consider sizing down if the next smaller size isn’t too huge of a difference. Worst case scenario is that you can use something like one of the pants stretchers you can easily find on Amazon. I’ve had great luck with them when a pair of jeans fits great everywhere but a bit too small in the waist.

Putting these on my dream board!!
Waiting ever so patiently!
Please take my money kind sir!

@popvulture great advice! Thanks for the info. Didn’t realize the 21oz had more give than what I’d typically expect. I’ve sized down before in other brands where the waste was a little too snug and the break in to get them comfortable was pretty miserable. Was afraid with these being heavy weight that I’d be better off going more relaxed in the waist, but now they won’t stay up without a belt.

@tdb85 I purchased both my indigo and sbg 21oz fitted, but comfortable and both pairs are too big for my liking. They stretch a lot. Fine out of the wash, but quickly stretch. I definitely should have gone a size down. Thighs stretch too. Not as much, but the do.

@jpvisual I like hearing this. I have been thinking about my usual size and I don't mind a relaxed pair. I wonder if this is a charecteristic of all the 21oz denims?

All the ones I’ve owned (indigo, SBG, OD) have a good bit of stretch. The OD is probably the least because the overdye process leads to max shrinkage, but it’s still got plenty.
I always buy my jeans a little snug (XHS being the exception) but not too much — I’ve never had good results when jeans started off as uncomfortable or even downright painful, but a little bit of snugness always sorts itself into a more ideal fit pretty quickly, in my experience. Some people say that you only get stretch in areas of tension and that a too-big waist won’t stretch even more from wear, but I’ve never had good luck with that. Sure, the waist may not be stretching at all when you’re standing, but squat, sit, or do any number of human things and your jeans will be even bigger pretty soon. Of course your mileage may vary.
