@seawolf here’s one of my continentals in the wild. Not quite the traditional cut of a formal blazer but makes for a great casual fit.

It looks great on you, but seeing it on someone gives me enough context to understand the jacket a little better, and I don't think it's the look I'm going for. Thank you so much for sharing!

Salon boncoura has some awesome made in Japan jackets but pricey

Wow. You weren't kidding about the prices.

I've just reminded myself that Billy Reid and Sid Mashburn have some good offerings

I found one at Billy Reid, thanks to you, that's on my short list.

@mikebarhoot Looking good! John Varvatos has an insanely nice goatskin sport coat that I would snatch up in a heartbeat, but it's over $2K.

Thank you all for bringing this thread back to life!

My job is “business casual.” I’ve gotten away with jeans every day so far in 2025; mostly by throwing on a blazer.

@Go-For-Chill It's a pretty amazing way to elevate a casual look. I have to get up in front of people a lot to present my work, and having a nice blazer will be a great way to be presentation-ready at all times.

@seawolf I was mistakenly tagged in one of the replies here, but I've been looking into a few unstructured jackets as suit alternatives.

Private White VC make a few jackets, such as the Tailor Blazer and Overlord. They tend to do fewer formal styles, and more dressy versions of things like shackets or field jackets.

Their products are nicely made, and they're sewn in the UK. I would pitch them as being similar to Nigel Cabourn, but more dressed up. I came very close to buying a Ventile duffle coat from them eighteen months ago.

@seawolf I do have some chore style jackets coming soon, I should have the samples back in a day or so, so can get some pics up for you to see - at the moment there will be a sashiko one and a dark navy twill
