i think the older patches get darker than the newer ones in general

The patch in the sr was already tanned.  It’s noticeably darker than all the others.  If I recall correctly

Yeah you're 100%. I like the newer patches a lot better. Although my favorite patches are the ones they put on the lighter denim with the red lettering.

I agree.  At first they seem lesser, but the one on my TW-666N aged really well.

Well look here.

I am a bit in shock of this pair I just acquired. They’ve gone through the initial soak and were then stored for many years.

My plan is to wear them, and then take them off, and put them on again… I think.
