Sorry for the bad lighting, I tried to show the comparison to my indigo. I’ll need to give it a warm wash at some point to dial in the fit.

@denami amazing, let us know after the wash. Do you think the black and indigo feel the same weight and heft? I have yet to find a close second to my SH sashiko ori indigo shirt. It's just the best design and fabric hands down. I'm going to have to pursue a black one next time around. Everything is harder to get now, it seems like almost a degree of luck getting in on certain releases and checkout. Congrats on another great piece!

@RubyRae I think it’s the same weight as the indigo, it feels slightly lighter right now but I think that’s just because it’s not washed yet. I’m hoping it’ll shrink about an inch or so all around after the initial wash which has been my experience with most SJ shirts but will update after.

@talexander - very nice fit and evo. I am waiting for my final payment email for the black Sashiko. I missed the indigo one but I do have the Dehen Weekend jacket that uses the same exact fabric. I am glad Ship John is making more indigo shirts.

@atm23 That is an awesome jacket. I can't say with any certainty, but I feel like the IHV-50-IND is the same material as well. If not, I cannot tell the difference when I put them side by side.

@Denimhead-0 I actually tried the way they recommended with just a cold soak. Didn't do much at all. Then I tried a hot soak in the bathtub. Definitely shrunk a bit and dyed the water black, but I still wasn't happy with the fit. So I threw caution to wind and put it in the washer on extra hot and took it out right before it started the spin cycle. Actually did the same thing with the indigo. The agitation probably helped the most? I don't know, I'm not an expert by any means. Just worked for both of my Ship John sashiko shirts.

Anyone else that put one and one together about Mikes and Wescos recently tease..?🫣

Could these be a next SJ boot release from Wesco? I know Mikes pic just had the one shaft strap, and Wescos has two. But Mikes two most recent Wescos releases have had the two straps. So maybe mikes picture was the first sample and Wescos is showing the last production version..?

What do you guys think?🫣
