The (Less intimidating) Watch Thread

The Dallas store opened at 6:45am when they normally open at 11:00. They sold the 45 units they had, then shut down for the day.
It was the same story when they released the Moon Swatch, albeit with less violence. I guess Omega people are just a classier bunch than the AP crowd. They aren't limited, so I'll wait until the hype dies and go pick one up for retail. You're insane to pay thousands of dollars just to be the first to get a plastic, non-limited novelty watch.

Case study for the Broken Window Theory.

@Matt I've just got a picture in my head of Giles camping out since Wednesday...
I don't see why people do this, I've seen videos of fights breaking out and people getting pepper sprayed... All to make $400 on "reselling" it, for the few days you spent sitting outside on a camping chair?

At this sort of very-sensible-sort-of-price-for-some-plastic watches, I should probably be posting in the grown up watch thread......

I never got the AP aesthetic to begin with and honestly don’t understand why these are causing riots. I guess no different than fighting over Pokémon cards. Moonswatch is pretty cool though.

Watches are so subjective and what we think is silly now isn’t necessarily set in stone. A friend let me wear his PP (that just sounded so wrong🫨) and I don’t get them either. Wen I was younger and looking at a Speedy Pro, I thought “Why TF would someone want chronograph on an old school wristwatch, and on top of hat you have to manually wind it, for all that $$??” Years later I tried one on and it was like something switched in my brain. Now the Speedy is GOATed in my view. Maybe one day I’ll feel that way about Royal Oak / PP. Really hope not though
