IH, On The Streets / Missed Connections

I have one from a while back.
Eating at a food hall in Golden, CO, (same one @Filthy and I went to), I'd just spilled a bunch of mustard BBQ sauce on a summer weight IH indigo flannel (from @Kirk ) that had a lot of white in it (read: would not take well to mustard stains). I was on my way to the bathroom to soak the stain. Someone stopped me and said they thought they recognized the shirt and then were sure it was what they thought it was when they saw the back of my jeans. I wish I'd stopped to chat a bit, but I was fixated on my mustard-shirt and was all "I just spilled mustard on the damn thing!"
At least I can't see even the hint of mustard on it now.

I was waiting in line to get into a karaoke bar this evening, got a tap on the back, and turned around to find two guys wearing IH. As far as seeing strangers in the wild, it’s the first time this has happened to me here! Super nice dudes — it was pretty great, almost sorta surreal. My girlfriend was talking to their wives, and they were all cracking up, bonding over the ridiculous shit we do with our jeans. Good times.

@popvulture I’ve only had two IH run ins before and both times the dudes weren’t nearly as interested in chatting about the virtues of IH as I was. I left both times feeling a little sad. As though they didn’t fully realize the bond behind the garments they wore.
Then, while in San Diego, I was eating at this taco place with my dad and the waiter was super psyched on my lefty. He gave me the breakdown of his denim wardrobe and told me how he’d really wanted to try some IH. I shared my insights a bit. He came back with the name of some denim retailers near by for me to check out.
All the while my dad is looking on, quite confused as to what the hell was happening.

Haha shit @Mizmazzle that sucks! I’d be so bummed if I saw someone wearing it, only to get a lukewarm response. I’m glad you got the good waiter experience to balance it out though — always great when you can get someone hooked

Was behind a lady in line today to pickup a package at the local CVS and noticed she had an awesome quilted leather hand bag (ihe-42). After complimenting it she then noticed my ihe-37.
Chatted for less than a min and we lamented a bit on how we both have missed out on some awesome things because they sell out so fast. Meant to steer her to the forum to see if anyone has that sacoosh? bag she wanted but we both headed off.
One of my first times running into anyone and actually chatting about it.

Didn't know this thread existed but I was with some friends at a bar here in Vancouver on a Saturday afternoon a couple weeks ago and was wearing all Iron Heart, my friends always poke fun at me for spending money on clothes instead of just the Lululemon/arcteryx Vancouver dress code.
Anyways one of the server dudes came by about two hours of us being there and said hey man, just wanted to say I like the Iron Heart fit, what cut do you wear? And we talked for a while about Iron Heart, was slightly vindicating

Just seeing this thread. A few months ago I went out to a really nice italian restaurant with my family. I had my N1, XHS, and black denim work shirt. The general manager came over to talk with us, he was wearing a wabash vest that was really faded. Enjoyed a few good minutes chatting about the brand with him.
