Maybe not the best place for this, but I recently posted a thread in Stuff to Trade, but ended up selling the item. The Trading Rules thread says to lock the thread if item is no longer available, but I can't seem to figure out how to lock the thread.

Should I flag the thread for a Moderator to remove?

I don’t have a bathtub at home, and with the items I really care about, I tend to hand wash my pieces in a storage type container in the shower - but it’s such a hassle. Should I be so afraid of using the washing machine? I try and take the best care of my things as possible so I’m cautious…

@americanathreads I used to soak and wash my IH in the tub when I got my first pieces. Now I don't bother anymore and just throw everything in the washing machine inside out. I do soak my denim before I wash it. Programme is gentle 30°C 600rpm

I wash everything on cold then air dry. If it’s a material that’s prone to marbling or the first time with raw denim i soak first.

Thanks both for the insight. I’ll start to work more items into washing machine 😅

I’ve got a long sleeve thermal shirt. It has the overlock run-off dangles on the ends of the sleeves. Is it OK to trim them flush with the fabric? I keep dipping them in food and if just rather not ;).

@mmerkle from what I read on here, this is safe to do. I have yet to trim mine, but they are kind of annoying at times indeed.

@mmerkle I trimmed mine off straight away. Several trips in the washing machine later and it’s still all good.
