        1. Father being diagnosed as Cancer free.

        2. Dealing with the preceding issues arising from the above, including being pretty bloody depressed and not dealing with it as a result of focusing my energy on supporting those around me.

        3. One of the founding Partners leaving my Employer, which has implemented many positive changes in the business.

        4. Being promoted.  Now one step below Partner and am four years younger than the other two people at my level.

        5. Passing the Graduate Diploma in Law whilst holding down a stressful, demanding job.  Good going considering its renowned as being a pretty fucking hard degree. As a result I'm now: BA(hons) MSc GDipLaw MRICS ACiarb.

        6. Reassessing my friendship group as a result of many changes in life.  Separating the wheat from the chaff.  Many people that I have supported over the years vanished when times were tough.  They can go fuck themselves.  I am very lucky to have some incredibly close friends who I consider to be family.

        7. Growing into becoming a father.

        8. Finding out that Im going to be a father again.

Change is awesome.  Overcoming adversity is even better.

I ain't got time to bleed.

Yeah, I'm just trying to hold on until some relief presents itself. Surrounding myself with friends and staying busy seems to help. Tough times…..never understood depression until now.

Hey @gratefulmelon- sorry to see you don't feel well. Don't know where you live, this is an interesting column by an American writer & former talk show host…ok that doesn't look promising. It's good, though. Says it better than I could.

Got clean again and reconnected with friends and a sense of serenity in most areas of my life.
Left a promising career in healthcare management for a job closer to home/friends, with less stress, to be able to spend more time with my son.
Took a 50% cut in salary.
Had a promising interview yesterday at a private/for profit where I've worked with several staff members in the past. Great benefits/pay, in a field I'm very experienced in with opportunity to grow personally and professionally.
The last two years have been some of the toughest but most rewarding I've ever experienced.
Hopefully 2017 will have brighter days in store for me. I sincerely wish the same for each of you guys here. I've made some decent friendships with some of you and hope to build more in the future.

My 2016. Paid off all our unsecured debts (credit cards etc…), and a big chunk of mortgage. My wife was made redundant from a job she hated and now works in a job she loves which is much closer to home, and I now volunteer my spare time to coaching kids football which, considering how irritating I find kids, is extremely rewarding.

Hope all the forum people had a great year, and have an even better one next year 🎉🍾

2016 has been a good year for me. After being out of work for 3 years:
                            Got a job
                            In another city
Stayed in hotel, w friend, apt
Drove back and forth weekly to originating city (least positive activity for timeframe)
                            Bought a house
                            Relocated to new city OFFICIALLY
Sold house for max profit in old city
Paying off debt from being out of work
Looking for new bike & truck. For medicinal hill country purposes of course.

…and bought 2 more pair of IH bottoms! 😉

I had an exciting year. In chronological order… moved back to the US, got a new dog, got engaged to my gf of 9 years, finished my PhD, got married, got a tenure track job at a research university, moved across the country and started the new job. I'm grateful for everything but also hoping for a less eventful, less stressful 2017.

I met some really great forum members in the Philadelphia area Fun in Philly meet up.
                                Injured my knee at work.
                                Continued to buy IH gear.
Had a kidney stone in early June which was the worst pain I have ever endured.
I went to the Burg & Shild party in Berlin and met another great group of forum members.
Had a heart attack. Quit smoking. Returned to London 10 days later.
                                Continued to buy IH gear.
Regularly exercising, regularly buying IH gear, still not smoking.
The best discovery is that longer than 12 months ago, probably late 2014 I found the 1955S 21 oz. on this site and  bought my first 2 pair IH's then spent up until now after multiple jeans purchases and decided that these are my favorite jeans that I have purchased, and ended 2016 buying 2 more pair.

Still trying to a find a real career in the supply chain field. Still working my part time job, sending applications, and relaxing. In 2017 I must land a new job, get back into shape, and start planning for my future.
