IH-526L - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo
-

Redline rally!! Driving back to SF tonight, depending on traffic. Soak tonight or tomorrow. It Says can enter with a shirt too, may be overzealous to enter with my SEXCPOOD. But could do both at first and then go from there. Most likely be sticking with the lefty full year. -
@Davids_denim
Stoked to be fading same jacket with you man, be cool see the different evo -
@meatmarketdenim1 always fun to have a fading buddy. Gonna enjoy fading with you.
-
@Davids_denim fabric feels good man. It’s still a lefty so at the end of the day it’s not “soft” persay but definitely feels much better than when it first started off

-
@worn2fade Oh man, I was really enjoying your journey with the jacket. Was it the sizing being little on the relaxed size that made the decision of letting go of the jacket? What are you planning to replace it with?
-
It definitely is the sizing. After shopping at BlackBlue when I was in Minnesota, I tried on a proper fitting Type III (16oz Slub OD,) and man did I fall in love with the fit of it. Made me look at my lefty like something was wrong with it. It’s truly just the length of the jacket, it’s a big difference having a jacket sit at your belt line and having one that passes it by a few inches.
I’ll probably grab a 21oz unmodified type III next.
-
@worn2fade I see, yeah good call on the length, it does make a big difference. Unmodified must be it then, if you prefer shorter length.
-
Minor update, initial soak and air dry complete.
This denim is insane lol. I’m not a stranger to heavyweight denim and I would like to think I understood what I was getting myself into but this really is crazy. Not for the faint of heart for sure.
Fit pics soon. -
@Davids_denim Can’t wait to see it on ya! Your words are 100% true

-
@Davids_denim yeah man Lefty is wild most robust
-
@worn2fade I hear you on the length. That's one of the main reasons I bought another one and sized down. This jacket is very unforgiving in the length. I do really dig mine now though. I also have the LOD version and that hits me a little higher, right at the belt. I don't need another type iii, but if I did pick one up it would most certainly be an unmodified classic trucker.
-
@worn2fade the unmodified 21oz is an amazing jacket. Had one by accident because it was sold as modified but wanted handwarmer pockets at the time and also had the lefty OD now I regret selling it because it fit much better and was much easier to wear.
-
@Davids_denim looking forward to some fit pics. Very cool that you put the works in something like the lefty.

Hi everyone. Longtime forum lurker, finally decided to contribute. I figured I should make myself useful and try to add some value to the forum for my first post so here goes...this jacket has been on my grail list for a long time but couldn't get my head around how to size given the shrink factor. I wear XL in every IH shirt I own but always have to ask the amazing IH team for the longest body and sleeve XL in stock. That's what drew me to this jacket - the extra body length. Traditional type 3s are just so short on me that I can't get comfortable in them. So after much hemming and hawing I went for an XL and am very pleased with the results. Here are original measurements and post 1 warm soak and post a second warm soak a few days later:
Shoulder: 19.8 -> 19.2 -> 19.0
Chest: 22.6. -> 22.3 -> 22.2
Sleeve: 27.9 -> 27.0 -> 26.8
Waist: 21.1 - > 21.0 -> 21.0
Length: 27.8 -> 27 -> 26.8I will upload some photos shortly

First couple are brand new out of the box. Next are post 2 soaks with a t shirt underneath and the last are post 2 soak with a UHF underneath.
