I can wear an L, but I prefer a looser fit on the UHF's as a general rule, plus I have a little leeway if I manage to shrink it….

So, this is definitely a bit of a necro thread to resurrect, but I guess my question applies to the UHF fabrics in general.

I have one of these in purple XL. How much could I expect it to shrink with a hot machine wash and hang dry? The shirt was always a tad big on me, and I've lost some weight since getting it, so I wouldn't mind if the shirt were to shrink an inch in all dimensions. Having never washed one of these on hot though, I just figured I'd double check it wouldn't be any more than that. Doubtful but good to be safe. Thoughts?

I don't believe you would get more than an inch of shrink in all dimensions with a hot wash.  In my experience I have gotten about a half size worth of shrink out of the UHF fabrics in a hot wash.

Awesome—thank you! That's about what I'd imagined. It'd be awesome if it'd go down a full size but figured that was wishful thinking. Even still, it's an amazing shirt and makes for a fantastic layer as is.

Cheers @Dmart and @neph93 - I adore the shirt (Thanks again Reuben lol) - and yes, a white tee is my staple… Kind of like H-San and his black harleys, I can never have too many white T's as my wife can't tell them apart

Talking white tees, I have yet to find a proper white tee and wear them daily. Any recommendations?

@Dmart - luckily, you have a ton of options, and variety.

I tend to wear the IH 1610 Tees under most of my gear - they are a tad short on me (I'm 6'2) to wear by themselves, but that's also why there is the 1610L (I have not gotten any colors other than the Olive). As a stand alone white t that is a bit more trim in the sleeves and body and also a hair longer, the Utilitees are brilliant, and available from Sonders Supplies.

I also really like the Trophy Clothing and RATS tees from Sonders - I bought an oversized RATS tee and shrunk it for length for a 90s vintage kinda vibe - the materials is crazy soft.

Thanks, I guess I have to try several.
I currently wear the 1950s from Merz. The best fit to me are the Johnson Motors shirts. The have the ideal length, a bit shorter and tighter arms (suns out, guns out) and a nice for on the body.
