…I always give my original employers the opportunity to meet my needs, which is sounds like you have done. They were the ones who initially invested their risk and training towards you, so that's always a great relationship to have.

now that's exactly what i'm thinking and how i'm feeling right now…besides all the pros i've listed in my first post.

gonna meet up with a friend of mine tomorrow to discuss this a little bit deeper but also the gf and everybody else say to stick with the actual company and their offer 🙂

        thanks guys!

I agree with Appfaff mate, providing that you are happy with your existing employer, which based upon your comments, you seem to be.

        Well done and good luck!!!!

i definitely agree with what the others have said. i'm a strong believer of loyalty to a company. in any case, if the roles were switched, i would hope for the same from my employee. the way i see it nowadays, job loyalty isn't a strong suit amongst most millennials.

            and @den1mhead @Appfaff @Cutlasshound @louisbosco and to all the guys that wrote me a pm or even a whatsapp message…THANKS A TON Y'ALL! ❤

so yesterday and today i heard back from my bosses again and was given some more details about the upcoming project (about the construction site itself but also about the financial situation the promotion is going to get me).
met up with one of my closest friends tonight and had a couple of beers. talked with him about the offers i've received and yeah, i think i've now made up my mind and know what i want to do next.
for now i've decided to turn down the external offer #1 tomorrow.
this because i think the best offer to go with and to ask for, is the recent one from my actual company!!!
and that's not just cuz they pay a little bit better as the company from offer #1 would do, most of all, cuz i think that it's going to be the best for my personal career and personal evolution as a human being!

and even though i now know what i want, i still feel bad about the other company :|

so now after i've turned down the first offer 1.5 weeks ago, the story continues ^^

today i had my 2nd interview at the company i've introduced as:

              @Finn666:

…the 2nd external offer is a great office where i handed in my papers myself (the other papers where handed in from a head hunter). so today i just heard back from them and that they want to invite me for a 2nd and final interview (which is where i get to know all the details about their offer). some ex-colleagues are working there already and the company itself works with the exact same programs and systems as i do now, so the change wouldn't be that big as well. ...

i've got to know one of the big bosses and also the other guy, i had the first interview with him, was joining us as well.
the interview itself started of pretty good and also ended that way 2 hours later 🙂
so right now i'm chilling at home on my couch, with possible contract-papers right beside me… which both of the guys already have signed 😶

fml ??? ...i really didn't think it would be that hard, to decide on your future (job) and at what company you'll be working for the next 2,3,4,5 years...shit is fecking crazy! 😠

Don't worry, after a while you get used to having no clue what you're doing. 😉

Personal development would sway it for me @Finn666

On a considerably more serious note than jobs, careers, and life changing decisions, I have a pressing first world problem that I need sorting out. I'm looking at a pair of high end Norwegian made work boots and can't make up my mind which leather I want. They'll be worn with indigo jeans and work trousers for the most part (shocker I know), and I've been looking at them so long I've almost lost the will to buy a pair. So dear fellow forum member, which pair floats YOUR boat and why:

                    Dark brown Chromexcel:

                    Horween Roast Coffee Bayou:

                    Horse front, natural tan:

And a little more out there, black Zug and brown latigo:

                    All input much appreciated.

Sorry, you are right. I was being lazy in my description. Strictly speaking no, they're made in England, but after a Norwegian design, for a Norwegian company  https://www.dundasfootwear.com

Do you know anything about them @Giles ?

Horse front, natural tan +2! The natural colour will age beautifully! Though the brown CXL looks good, it'll collect scratches and marks only by looking at them.

                                      Horse front, definitely.

Explanation for the choice is as follows: I dislike zug grain, just a personal aesthetic opinion, nothing quantifiable, so those are out.  I don't like how CXL can get scraped up while walking across a carpet made of rainbows and warm hugs, so those are out.  The bayou is good, but I like the color of the horse better, plus horse hide develops a really nice soft glow over time that's unique.
